My wife and I recently spent our 5 year anniversary at this lovely Inn located in the small town of Frisco Colorado. I had spent much of my childhood in Frisco, and remember this building fondly. We read about it online, the reviews looked wonderful, and the staff and service did not disappoint.
We were able to book the tower room with a four post bed and a lovely layout for an amazing experience in the mountains. Upon arriving at the hotel we were helped into our room with all of our luggage and the service was such that we were able to spend time putting our 5 month old baby down for a nap without skipping a beat. Upon entering the room, a cold bottle of complimentary champagne was waiting in a tub of ice, and the windows had been opened to allow for the fresh afternoon breeze to come into the room. We immediately felt at home and that continued throughout our stay.
We loved both of the hot tubs, the sauna, and the incredibly charming relaxation room located in the spa. We enjoyed the complimentary wine and cheese happy hour, and the concierge directed us towards a free concert in the park one block from the Inn.
That evening we relaxed in the spas and solitude.
In the morning, the complimentary breakfast was above and beyond most that you would ever experience at a hotel. They had a full menu and you could order Belgian waffles or made-to-order omelettes along with Incredible coffee that was grinded and roasted on site. Bicycles were also included in our stay, and we attached the trailer that we had brought and road the incredible six-mile Lakefront Trail all the way to Dillon where we went to the Farmers Market.
The entire experience at The Inn on Galena was surreal and unlike anything that we could have found at a hotel or any Airbnb in the area. Which is an important point I'd like to highlight because many of the airbnb's that we looked at prior to booking at the Galena were more expensive and without any of the added touches and personal service that really made our anniversary something to remember. We will be back! We could not more highly recommend a place for you to hang your hat.
This is what hospitality is all about.
Thank you again for helping make our anniversary...
Read moreI cannot praise Frisco Inn enough. I booked a little getaway from the city for me and my partner for a few days and thought this would be a nice stay. A nice stay is such an understatement. Quietly tucked right off the Main Street, but still an easy 5-10 min walk to every spot in town, Frisco Inn feels like a mix between a cute boutique, a bed & breakfast, and a cozy family home. The hospitality of the innkeepers was outstanding from check-in to check-out. They even sat with us in friendly conversation during their afternoon “apertivo hour”- where guests are invited to gather for a social glass of wine & a daily chef-prepared appetizer plate. They were featuring a spinach- artichoke dip and broccoli cheddar soup when we attended, and both were very tasty. We also ordered breakfast for our last morning before checking out and enjoyed a freshly cooked meal in their dining area, brought out to your table by the chef himself. Other features that really set Frisco Inn apart from other hotels is their delicious house-roasted coffee (available 24/7 to guests!), the lounge/ fireplace reading room (for a quaint, cozy place to wind down before bed), the rec room (with pool table!), a beautiful outdoor patio with fire pit surrounded by flowers and string lights, the gorgeous in-house spa (for massage and relaxation), and the 2 hot tubs (1 indoor, 1 outdoor). The rooms were very comfortable and clean and offered everything we needed. I don’t have a single negative thing to say about this hotel and cannot wait to book another trip to Frisco- just so that I can come back and stay at Frisco Inn. They truly have created such a warm, inviting place that feels like a home away from home. I didn’t want to leave. Thank you for such a wonderful stay, Frisco Inn! I’ll...

As a traveler, does it matter to you whether an innkeeper has values that align with yours? Before booking lodging at Greedy on Galena, consider my experience. I booked a three-night stay in January to ski in Summit County. Three days before my projected stay, I landed in a hospital emergency room for a painful medical condition that made it impossible to keep my reservation. Being aware of Greedy on Galena’s policy, plastered all over the website and confirmation email, that the required advance payment in full for two nights is non-refundable. I emailed the innkeeper (who declines to include his/her name in emails), not asking for a refund (clearly that was not in the cards), but asking for a rain check. I am an experienced traveler and have more than once, if unable to visit a property, asked for and graciously received a full credit to stay at the property in the future. Greedy on Galena refused, offering only a $100 credit toward a future stay. Needless to say, I would never darken the threshold of an establishment that ripped me off for $507.12 (or $407.12 with a measly credit).
I understand that people are in business to make money, and I’m fine with that. But in the hospitality business, especially, having a decent regard for the interests of your customers is good business and, in the long run, the best way to earn loyalty. Before you book with these people, I invite you to consider the kind of innkeeper you like to do business with, and ask yourself whether such unmitigated greed is consonant with your expectations. ...
