I co-founded my company two years ago and I am the only Fuquay-based team member. I travel to Durham occasionally to meet with my leadership team, and I travel around the Triangle to client sites, but I needed a quiet spot to get work done when I was not traveling. I found that at Fuquay Coworking.
But I also found James and Virginia. Separate from Fuquay Coworking, James and Virginia run the marketing firm 'Empowered Ideas’ and they consult with clients across the country. As a member of Fuquay Coworking, I’ve gotten to know James and Virginia and they have gotten to know me and what I do. They have leveraged their marketing, branding, and messaging expertise to help me on countless occasions. That exchange of ideas, and the opportunity to be surrounded by other like-minded entrepreneurs, was something I did not expect when I was looking for office space but it is something that I have grown to appreciate the longer I have been a member.
Outside of work, I recently hosted a community meeting at the Fuquay Coworking space on a Sunday night. James and Virginia came into the office just to make sure everything was in order. I had a key, we had made arrangements before hand, but when I asked James why he wanted to come in on a Sunday, he replied “You're a member here Scott, and we wanted to support what you’re doing.” That’s not the first time I felt supported here, it’s just the most recent.
What James' said really blew me away. I started off looking for office space, but what I got in addition to space turns out to be two of the most essential ingredients for entrepreneurship. I got shared expertise to help build my business, and I got much needed support in a world full of entrepreneurial naysayers and doubters. There is no better spot in southern Wake County to start and grow a business than...
Read moreThe staff were all super nice to us and the energy here is amazing. I participated in a 48-hour lock-in game jam here with two coworkers from our small startup, it was one of the best times of my life. They provided brunch and dinner both days, and my team of 3 were able to work in one of the smaller conference room spaces, which was a really nice, quiet, clean, space. A much larger conference room with maybe 10 or 12 seats, and equipped with a smart-TV was available, but we decided to leave it for a larger group. The space has lots of nice offices of every size. With 3 massive computer rigs running in our small space, and with somewhere around 30 other people all basically living there for 2-3 days, we were able to stay a nice cool temperature with just a basic 8-10 inch floor fan. I can't recommend this place...
Read moreThere's always uncertainty with trying something new. I think coworking spaces are especially difficult because we hope that the culture is a fit and, also, that we can jive together as coworkers. Most coworking spaces provide good benefits like stable internet, kitchen, events, etc. To me, it comes down to the people. Everyone at FC is super friendly and welcoming. Virginia, James, and Lisa are accommodating and simply amazing. My coworkers are a joy to be around and great conversationalists!
As far as benefits go, one of my favorite parts are the events that the team puts on for us. A particular favorite of mine and my kids is Family Game Night. Come by, hang out, play games, have fun. :)
Great place to work and be part of a...
