Shoe Dept. Encore — Local services in Gadsden

new years day at mall went to store, selected pair of shoes to buy. at check-out, was told/showed shoes did not match (size's was different). attendant offered to check on them, so we continued on in the mall. came back and was told the matching shoe not located, but they could check if the shoes was available from another store (should have done that anyway). we waited, and yes, a pair was found and was offered if i wanted them, and also offered "free shipping". i agreed, BUT, a problem seemed to arise when i wanted to pick-up the shoes at the store, or have them sent to my P O box. (similar problem with "Academy" in Gadsden). the manager (i think) said they would "see" if the order would go in. instead, they seemed to start looking thru a stack of receipts. i said that's ok, and left the store. do shoe show (and Academy) have that much business/sales to turn away my sales?? i had cash money, not lay-a-way. would 1 box really be in the way at the store??. and to think you could "charge me" for shipping items i prefer to pick-up. gee, maybe we would buy something else. "Sears and J C Penny's" and Walmart have/had no problem selling me items, no problem accepting my money: no problem letting me (a customer) decide where to ship, or where i pick up items i buy. didn't see but a "few" others in the store anyway. and for that "sister" who asked if i had a relative i could have the shoes shipped to: it is was none of your business. 5 people around the front, not seeming to do much, and no one new if i could receive, from shoe show, a package where i desired. and to me, shipping costs would be a waste of good money, when i, or someone else, wanted to come back to the mall, back to shoe show. most of the people was polite and friendly. it's your business and you run it as...

Have had mixed experiences at this store. Have been there 3 times the past 3 weeks. First experience, I was greeted and assisted in finding a shoe. From start to finish a great experience, from the minute I walked in to walking out with my purchase. Second time, was not greeted but assistance was offered. A decent experience overall but was unable to decide that day so I decided to return later. Third time, no greeting, no offer of assistance. I watched several employees greet and assist others, but my presence was only met with angry glares and silence. Now I am unsure if I am willing to return to the store in the future as my first experience was wonderful but it seems to just be continuing downhill. Very...

One of the employees at the colonial mall in gadsden actually accused a friend of mine,that is 77, of hitting her in the face with her purse. She didn't hit the emplyee She then placed hands on my 86 yr old dad called security . Security proceeded to scream at my dad escorted them out called the police. Then the police told them they were banned from the mall and the parkingng lot for a year. This is a terrible injustice to 2 elderly ppl looking for shoes. I would never ever do business with this store....
