Do not use these people. Nothing but thieves. I had an appointment last Wednesday between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., I scheduled this appointment 1 week in advance and confirmed that same morning July 8th. I was assured they would be there between 2 and 4 p.m. At 4:15 I called Archer Electric, there was no answer I left a message for Jesse, I called again at 4:30 and left another message, I called a third time and received the after hours message. Needless to say Jesse never called me back. When I spoke with Jesse he told me it would take approximately 2 -3 hours and the cost would be $235.00, but if it took less time it would be based on that hourly rate I confirmed and said $78.33 Jesse said yes. With much hesitation I reschedule for this Friday morning, July 10, 2015. The electrician and another arrived at 8:45 a.m. finished working at 10:20 that is 1 hour and 35 minutes and handed my daughter a $240.00 bill. When I spoke with him on the phone he said it was 2 hours since they left the store and that I had 2 electricians. I paid the bill because I am so disgusted with these crocks!! They make me sick. Do not use this company! They were slow to make an appointment to come to my home. They came much later than they agreed to. Their workers were very rude, unfriendly, slow, and expensive. When I asked about the itemization of the bill, which was high, all I got was a one word answer, "Labor". I have tried to reach the owner to discuss this terrible experience, but he has not returned my calls. I realize that not everyone gets along with everyone, but in over 30 years in Gainesville, this is the first time i have every had an issue with a company, and the first time I have ever given a company a review, let alone a bad one! I have several times spoken directly with higher-ups in a company telling them how happy I was with the employees and work that I received.

We have been customers of Archer Electric for at least 40 years and have known a few technicians. The service was always excellent and they were always proud of their job. We made the mistake to follow one of the technician when he started his own company. Although his work was good he would only do what he wanted to do and when he felt like doing it. What good is a company when you cannot count on it. On the other hand we like to have the same technicians coming to our home when it is not an emergency and Archer Electric makes it possible. That is important for us as we are elderly and want people in our home that we can trust to do an excellent job.
