Do not buy your kids an ice cream cone unless you want them to walk around covered in ice cream. We had Hey Mikey’s two nights before and it was great! We almost went back there today, but I said, l “Let’s give another local shop our business.” That was a mistake. The younger employee was sweet; however, the older lady (the manager not the owner - I clarified so I could report this accurately) was not. I went in and asked the nice employee if there was a restroom and told me yes and where it was. My husband took in my kids and was rudely told by the second lady that he wasn’t allowed back there. The first employee was nice and ended up taking us back. When we walked out, the manager was chewing her out. I guess we were supposed to walk all over the strand with sticky kids. If you don’t want to have a restroom, you certainly do not need to have an ice cream/candy shop geared towards kids.
TL; DR No restroom for customers, a rude manager. If you want ice cream, go to Hey Mikey’s. If you want candy, go to La King’s.
Advice to the owners -get rid of the older woman and make the younger girl the manager, if you want good...

Read moreThere are so many better options, including La King’s, which is very close to this shop. The candy, including chocolate candy pieces that would seem impossible to make taste bad, was terrible. I didn’t realize how much I overpaid until after we left the store. It was way more expensive than the nice candy shop on the strand.
The two guys behind the counter were doing something sketchy and looked embarrassed when we walked up. As someone else mentioned, you may want them touching your candy. And we saw a kid holding gummies in his bare hands and putting them back in the candy containers while we were there. His mom was not watching him at all. We had to throw away the chocolate. It didn’t taste right at all....
