Cafe Hong Kong — Restaurant in Germantown

I was very impressed with my first Delivery Order a room this establishment , after reading an old Gazette Review which deemed it the "Gem of Germantown"! I was Quite impressed with the quality of the Food, being new to Germantown I've found my "To Go Place" when craving Chinese! 😋 So, the following week I decide to order again, and spend twice the amount of money, HUGE mistake! 😤 Once I called back to request paper plates, and the man answering said, the driver already left. .🤔🤔 I was like no freaking way, I Litteraly just placed my order 8 minutes ago folks! I should've cancelled the order right then and there! Needles to say, the food arrived and As I imagined it was damp, mushy white rice which they attempted to bring back to life by placing it in a hot wok ... Disgusting 😲 My poor husband's meal looked like it was thrown into the microwave and reheated from their Buffet. I'll be calling for a refund, I'll repost and you folks know how hard this task will be, it's America people in not agreeing to paying over $30 bucks for less than satisfactory quality. This way way below the marker, no consistency here, it's a toss Of the coin if you'll receive your order freshly prepared...

We originally chose this place because of a picture the restaurant was advertising on DoorDash. When we asked the server what the dish was, she had no clue and said sometimes they use "random" pictures. Ok?

Overall, the meal was fair. We felt it was a bit expensive and didn't match the quality.One of our chicken wings was raw, so we sent it back. We didn't make a big deal over it, but a careless mistake like that can get someone really sick.

Our biggest issue was when paying for the check and leaving. I went back in to ask for a new carry out bag because food had wasted in the first one. When I came back to the door, the server gave me an off-putting look. She wasn't going to even come over at first. She told insisted I pay 5 cents for the new bag, which at the time I didn't think was unreasonable because that is the norm everywhere. But she said "normally if the tip was bigger, I wouldn't mind, but the tip was only $2"

WHAT??? I was shocked at the audacity. Skip right by the place. Nothing spectacular...

So disappointed. I ordered steamed dumplings, general tso chicken, chicken and broccoli, and sweet and sour chicken. The food was ordered online through chow now at 4:11pm and I was notified it was accepted by the restaurant at 4:17pm, estimated delivery time was 5:02pm. At 5:30 it still wasn’t here so I called and somehow I guess my order was missed, the guy on the phone said it was accepted at 5:02pm and that it would be here in 20min. Honest mistake I guess, but then the order came at 6:27pm and it was left at the wrong door. The driver corrected his mistake and brought it to me, but the food was cold and the order was wrong. The sweet and sour chicken was hard. I didn’t receive general tso chicken, they gave me a dish that had chicken with peanuts. That was our first time ordering from this restaurant and we won’t be ordering...
