JCPenney — Local services in Glendale

Very disappointing visit for first time.

I came early to this store to check on the clearance that was advertised. Then I found an item on clearance section of the kitchen appliances and to my surprise it has a pink tag/ticket on it. It is posted all over the store that “pink ticket items for $3” so I was happy to have found an item that I want and on sale. Then on the check out counter cashier said she will call the store manager, her name is Mina in JC Penny Galleria Mall in Glendale, CA store number 0669. When she saw it she dont want to honor it and just keep on saying I wont honor it, some items are exclusions then I asked her what are the exclusions she cant say anything. She even say maybe somebody switched it which doesnt make sense because first she sees that the tags are intact there were even 2 same pink tags/tickets on it, if someone switch it for sure that person would have taken it already. She just making up different excuses because she refuses to honor the promotion of the store. She removes the tag but I took photos of it. She just keep on saying I wont honor it and walk away. What a great attitude and customer service for a manager! And so unfair!

Also, I did not see any cart or basket for shopping in store. How can the customer carry all the items or even big items with just 2 hands especially if there are kids. Just...

The visit here was very disappointing. I was looking for earrings for work, and I came to the jewelry section to find absolutely no one around. Finally, after roaming around, I found one employee over in a what seemed like the main register area for the jewelry section. Unfortunately, she was already assisting customers that she seemed to have been assisting for a while, and there were other people waiting. I waited a while and then asked if she was the only employee in the area. She replied yes.

That was so sad! This was on a Sunday, and it was quite busy. I felt bad for her. She should not have been the only employee by herself. I know companies are trying to save money, but at what cost? One employee the work of several employees but only barely getting paid for the job of one employee.

I decided to leave because I did not want to wait around forever, and I did not like what I saw going on. I do not want to support a company treating their employees that way.

I know this is not the only company doing this. I hope there is improvement one day soon, but I have to try not to encourage...

I had a great shopping experience at JCPenney at Glendale Galleria! Since this Friday they've had a Black Friday Sale for Cinco De Mayo weekend. I bought 3 casual shirts & pants which produced a 48% savings on my purchases. I think this is the first time I've saved this much money on a holiday that wasn't Thanksgiving/Xmas! I don't shop there very often. Although, I've always liked their selections & quality of men's wear. It definitely helps to be on their e-mail list to take advantage of their discounts. It was a little hectic there due to the sale & holiday weekend. I hadnt shopped there in a few years, so it took just a little of bit of time to find what I needed. The most important thing that helped me is I went on their website Friday to find what I was looking for. I was in & out of there in 40 minutes. Even though it was very busy, there was only 1 person ahead of me whose purchase was done once I got there. The staff was very helpful answering my questions & guiding me to find what I needed amongst all the activity. What a great experience for me & I'll make sure to come back much sooner...
