Read moreI used to love coming to this storeâback when the current owner wasnât in charge. It had great customer service, a welcoming vibe, and a solid selection of products. Back then, it felt like a place that cared about its customers and the community. But those days are long gone.
The owner clearly despises his daily customersâthe very people keeping his doors open. Instead of gratitude, he shows open disdain and runs the store like heâs doing everyone a favor by simply being open. Spoiler: youâre not. A business canât survive without customers, and judging by the steadily declining clientele, more and more people have figured that out and decided to spend their money elsewhere.
Letâs talk about the infamous âopen box station.â It started off well enoughâyou could open any box to inspect items before buying, which was fair. Then came the attitude shift. First, they got angry about customers not buying items that turned out to be broken or clearly used. (Sorry, but no oneâs shelling out money for garbage, deal with it.) Next, they limited the station to opening boxes only once per day for a single customer. That might seem reasonable at first glance, but with the number of people shopping here, it still didnât help much. If anything, it just made the process slower and more frustrating.
Now? Theyâve gone full absurdity: youâre allowed to open one box per day, per customer, but only brown boxes with no pictures. Seriously? Make that make sense. How does this help anyone? How does this sell products? It feels like a game of âhow much can we inconvenience people before they stop coming altogether.â Well, congratulations, because youâre winning that game.
This store had so much potential, but the ownerâs mindset has killed it. If they hate their customers so much, maybe they should just close up shop and spare everyone...
Read moreI've known of this place from what others had told me, being that we were all patrons of Black Friday Deals. Being my first time there, I found a number of things that were of value, including a brand-new Freebird Head Shaver. I definitely will be returning again this week to see what else I can find. It's not like the aforementioned Black Friday Deals, but it does offer things that are worth checking out, from electronics to indoor/outdoor apparatuses to fragrances. Give them a try. You may find something you'd never expect to find.
Additionally, during my first visit, I bought a tie that was missing the handkerchief. Last Saturday, I found the missing handkerchief and the manager allowed me to pay $3 for it. That was a blessing, indeed.
ADDENDUM
One of the things about going to stores such as Deals & Steals is that you can do your "special occasion" shopping for gifts that you can give on birthdays, at Christmas, and just because. What helps is that you're allowed to open the products at the box-opening station to assess the quality before purchase, which is quite important if you want to make sure your "deal"...
