I have been going to Mr. Kim for years and, sadly, the business isn't as well run as it used to be. He is often overwhelmed by customers—sometimes there is a line of 10-20 people outside the shop and when I asked him if he has thought about hiring some help he said no. The long line means people who just need to pick up are waiting while people get fitted and while you're getting fitted people stare at you through the glass, annoyed by how long it is taking. Also, Mr. Kim is losing track of when orders are ready. Mine was a day late and he forgot to tell me so I had to visit a second time to pick up. He offered apologies but nothing else. When I got my pants home, the tailoring was good but the chalk marks were still there and it was surprisingly difficult to get out—I had to wash them 2x and scrub the spots. Do not use this guy. It is under new management. A younger guy is now running the shop. I was fitted for a two-piece suit and one jacket. I thought the price was a bit high, but I didn’t complain. I paid the full price before I left. I went to pick up the suit and jacket and he apologized. He said, “He didn’t figure in the cost of tailoring the sleeves on the jacket and charged me an extra $70.00 for the sleeves. I simply told him that I would not use him again. Searched for a store to get measurements done for a tuxedo and found Mode. My wife and I stood outside of the Greenbelt store and witnessed the store associate measuring a gentleman and pinning his bedroom pants. We waited patiently until the associate answered the door. My wife explained that we were there to have measurements done. The associate explained that due to COVID he could not get close to complete my measurements. Guess he assumed I was carrying the virus. My job requires me to brief my subordinates on COVID, masks, and social distancing every day.
