I’m not one to leave negative reviews but this place really did a number on my wife and I. Probably the worst silver diner I have ever patron. The server Mikayla was kind, and quick with her service as she is only a server, had smile on her face every time she presented herself at tables(5 stars)The host which I do not care for her name or even remember her name, she asked us to wait 5 minutes for a party of two and proceeded to sit party of five and two parties of two which arrived after we did.
Before she could get to sitting the second party of two I stepped in for my wife and let her know we needed to be seated and that all I would need was her managers name and time. The manager came and rudely said “what can I do for you?” I asked him who he was and what he was doing at our table and he did not know how to respond. He was obviously not happy to be at our table and I was not happy to have a complete stranger with shirt untucked making me feel like I was the issue.
I proceeded to explain to him why I was upset after explaining that I also did 10 years in the hospitality and food and beverage industry. I told him that what the host did felt personal and that I didn’t want to waste my time and or his so I asked him to just proceed and address the problem. Didn’t ask for a discount or was I rude about anything that I said. A little hangry tone but nothing hurtful.
FOOD: Burnt chocolate chip pancakes and overly packed chocolate chips in chunky monkey milkshake. I feel like either silver dinner or just this location specifically does not offer the same quality food and service like I have known silver diner to do so.
Rockville is probably the best it will get.
Not worth the $50 spent on two small portion meals.
Still tipped our server...

I can't say enough good things about Silver Diner's catering for my baby girl's 2nd birthday brunch! As a mom, I'm super particular about what goes into my little one's body, so finding a catering service that shares my values about fresh, preservative-free food was incredible. Phil, who handled our catering, was amazing! He totally got my concerns about allergies and cross-contamination and made sure everything was properly labeled and packaged separately.
The spread was perfect - fluffy pancakes, their signature Paradise French toast (which everyone couldn't stop talking about!), perfectly crispy home fries, scrambled eggs, and lean proteins like chicken maple sausage and turkey bacon. Everything came with high-quality whipped butter and real maple syrup. The best part? All the food arrived hot and fresh, exactly when we needed it for our brunch timeline.
What really stood out to me was how they understand that feeding our children isn't just about taste - it's about providing real, wholesome food. You can actually taste the difference when food isn't loaded with preservatives and artificial ingredients. Our guests (both kids and adults!) loved everything, and many asked who did the catering.
They included all the utensils and condiments we needed, which was one less thing for this busy mama to worry about! The price point was fantastic for the quality and service we received. If you're planning any event, especially one where you want to make sure your little ones are getting good, clean food, I absolutely recommend Silver Diner's catering. They made my baby's special day even...
Read moreThe food is good. I've tried several things on the menu and have enjoyed them. It's clean, the food comes out reasonably fast, and it's a good quality.
I'm currently living in a hotel, so I've been here half a dozen times or so for breakfast. Most of the time, the service is great. I've only had 2 times that it wasn't great.
The first time was my Bloody Mary taking so long that we finished our meals before it came, even though I ordered it before ordering our meals. The waitress said the guy that made the drinks wasn't at his station, so it would be delayed, then every time she came back to check on us, she was more and more annoyed that she didn't have my drink. I literally never even inquired about it because she was clearly checking often, but she seemed mad at ME. We finished our meals, and I was going to cancel the drink, but she did a quick drop and run before I could say anything. When she brought our bill, she seemed to give up completely on trying to be polite. It was all irritation coming from her.
The second time there was an issue it was a different lady, and she was giving annoyed vibes too. We are the most laid-back dinners, so it's not like we were being THOSE people that send people running constantly or complain about anything. There was a table of 4 older gentlemen that were being a little obnoxious with her, but turn that sour face at them, not me.
The other 4 or 5 visits were...
