This was one of the worst shopping experiences I have ever had!
I happened to be in the area and stopped in to purchase some things for Easter and for an upcoming birthday. There was a "sale" table outside and one of the ladies said that all the items on the table were marked at 75% off. I picked up two hair bows marked at $14.99 but was told that they were included in the sale and would also be 75% off ($3.75). I ended up purchasing a number of items and spent $178, a bit more than I had expected to spend but I did not question it.
Fast forward a few days later and I was going through my items in preparation for Easter and noted that the hair bows I was told were 75% off were actually full price.
Not wanting to spend $30 on two bows my daughter will inevitably lose, I decided to take the ribbons back to the store for a price adjustment. I walked up to the counter and explained to the lady that I had been over-charged for two items and pulled the items out of the bag, along with the receipt. She grabbed the receipt out of my hand and before she had a chance to look it over said, "that is not possible". I explained that the bows were on the sale table and that they should be 75% off and she explained that just because they were on the table doesn't mean they were on sale. I said that I wouldn't have bought them if I would have known they were full price. She then wanted to know who told me that the items were on sale. I told her one of the other ladies who worked there and described this woman to her. Frustrated, I said that I would return them. She then said, "there's no return on sale items". I said, "One, you just said that these were not on sale and Two, I paid full price for them and Three, where does it say that you can't return sale items?". She pointed to the policy on the counter and guess what? It does not make any mention of a return policy for sale items! I pointed that out to her and she said, it is on your receipt. How nice is that? One doesn't get their receipt until after you pay! Again, I said that I wanted to return the bows and that was met with an eye roll and I told her to go ahead and return everything else! I had no intention of returning everything -- I just wanted a price adjustment but she was so rude that I did not want to give them my money. She was incredibly rude about returning the rest of the items and proceeded to question every single items I was returning -- "I don't know why you need to return this item, this item is perfectly fine you don't need to return this". I explained to her that I was returning the items because she was rude and the customer service was horrible.
All she needed to do was give me a price adjustment for the hair bows and provide good customer service and I would have been happy keeping all the items. This could have been an easy fix on their part but as it stands, I will never shop there again and would never recommend this store to anyone.
There are a number of toy stores in the area that have great products and provide excellent customer service -- Timbuk Toys, Learning Xpress, Lakeshore Learning, US Toys -- there is simply no need to shop...
Read moreI used to love this toy store but last night I had an employee yell at me and ask me “if I could at least” pick up after my kids.” Keep in mind… it’s a TOY STORE!!!! I was planning on asking my kids to pick up the toys they were looking at but didn’t have the opportunity to before I was attacked so rudely. Not only was it shocking and inappropriate how she spoke to me, but she did it in front of my children (who were well behaved and kind). But who yells at a mother in front of their children in a toy store? There were a couple of key chains and a couple of trucks on the floor…. It’s not like they were trashing it. They didn’t ruin or break anything. The funny part is I was taking my children in to see what they were interested in so I could go back and do my Christmas shopping there… let’s say any other toy store will be getting my business this year. I’d recommend rehiring your employees to keep...
Read moreAs someone who works in retail I totally understand keeping your eyes on the floor to make sure there’s no theft going on but the way these employees treat their customers is disgraceful. For context my boyfriend and I are both on the whiter side and my sister is brown. When we first walked in the store they glared at my sister and ignored us the whole time we were there until we were looking at the jelly cats when a worker came over and was in our way while we were trying to look. She was just staring at us pretending to organize things while she was a couple inches away. If the store is that worried about stuffed animals getting stolen then they should position them somewhere more in the open not in a corner. That was the last time I will be going to this establishment and will be taking my business somewhere where the workers aren’t rude and don’t target...
