As I drive by this place each day on my commute, I knew I needed to check it out. To my delight, they were open on New Years Day, when I decided it was donut time for me. They have a decent selection, but I will admit, I thought there would be more. There were also some that were sold out already. That being said, we went around 10:30 am which is kind of late for donuts. If you want to ensure the best selection, go a little earlier in the morning. We chose the maple long john/cruller, 2 filled glazed donuts, one with custard one with jelly. The best part is they fill them fresh when you order it. We also tried a croissant donut. The donuts were really good and fresh. When we realized they also serve hot food items, we also tried 2 breakfast tacos- a carne and a chorizo. The tacos are pretty big and filled for a great deal at $2.99/taco. They even came with green sauce. The sauce is pretty hot, so go light. The meat, eggs, and potatoes were all fresh and warm inside the taco. They also make them with 2 soft corn shells, so they hold up when you pick them up. 4 donuts and 2 tacos plus sauce for an incredible value of $17. You can't beat that! I love eating great food without breaking my bank, and I appreciate it when business don't overprice their items. I am sure I will be back again. It was worth the 11 minute drive from my house, and I want to try the Boba smoothies. I'm grateful this place opened business in this area. I will also keep it in mind when I need a single birthday treat...
Read moreWe have been in the search for top tier breakfast tacos for years and decided to give Anna’s a chance today. We will be lifelong customers from this day forward.
Breakfast tacos: I recommend the bacon and asking if they can put it on a flour tortilla. We ordered the bacon, sausage, and steak. All were overfilled in the best way possible, served with a complimenting salsa, but proved to be a bit too much for the double corn tortillas. A switch to a quality flour tortilla + some options for additions would make this one of the top 5 breakfast tacos in the metro area.
Kolache: Unfortunately they were out of the jalapeño option, so we settled with the cheese. Still good kolache with high quality dough & a tasty sausage. We will try the jalapeño next time for sure, otherwise we’ll stick to the standout breakfast tacos for the savory items.
Donuts: We ordered the chocolate topped croissant, the cro-nut, and the blueberry fritter. Immediately fell in love with the cro-nut, so make sure you at least order two of these, even more standout points if you fill them with flavor of your choice. The blueberry fritter was good, not as crispy as I would prefer, but not a big deal given how amazing the cro-nut is.
Overall loved the convenience, prices, and standout options with the breakfast tacos and cro-nut selections. Can’t wait to become a...
Read moreThis is a very good donut shop. This was #27 for donut shops I have tried and probably one of my top visits. I visited 2 other highly rated shops in downtown Denver the previous day, and neither had donuts ready 45 minutes after opening. We Knead Donut saw me pull in a little before 6:30 and they opened up a few minutes early to sell me a couple donuts. I appreciate that. The LED lights over the lower level of donuts is a nice touch. I tried the cronut, cake doughnut, and a yeasted long john fresh filled with bavarian creme(generic tub stuff, but still tasty!). The filling was the most consistent, and full I have had. The yeasted dough here is tied with OMG donuts for the fluffiest texture so far out of 27 shops. The pumpkin cake donut was nice and the glazed cronut is in a 3 way tie with OMG Donuts and Mr. Donut for top cronut. I prefer the cronut texture here, over Parlor "Donuts," and that's their claim to fame. You really can't go wrong with the donuts here at We Knead Donut. The guy cooking was happy to pop out of the kitchen to tell me they use soybean oil to fry in and the lady that checked me out was welcoming. If it was not a half hour+ from my home, I would become a frequent visitor here. Probably best it is a little further, for my weight's sake HA Thanks for the tasty donuts...
