Just left store. We bought a hat and seconds after purchasing realized it was a children’s hat, still in the store and they ( the manager) would not refund! There was not the same style of hat in an adult style. She says we can only get a store credit. Unbelievable. Are you that desperate for sales!? So we look for a new hat, in same color, use the store “credit” the new hat is $4 cheaper. Since we aren’t from mystic, we will never be able to use the $4 credit. We ask if she can return it to the card. Again, the manager refuses to budge and forces us to pay an extra $4 for a hat that we are forced to purchase. Don’t shop here- shady practices. There are times to make exceptions, and this would be one of them.
In response to your response. This is accurate and your staff is misrepresenting it. My friend didn’t want the hat -it was in a child size and he is 24 years old; in addition he was issued a store credit, not a credit to his credit card. He was not allowed to return the hat and get a refund. He doesn’t live in mystic. He liked the child’s hat design, but once he found out it was in a child’s size he didn’t want it. There was not the same hat design available in an adult size. He was forced to pick another graphic even though he didn’t want to purchase a hat after discovering the original was in a child size only. due to the staff refusing to return it, he picked another one which was $4 cheaper and when we request the 4 dollars be refunded to his card, the manger said no it can only be a store credit. What a rip off!
He purchased the child’s hat unknown and it was minutes after he purchased the original design that he realized it. We were still in the store! Shady. To force customers to buy stuff they don’t want; this is a...
Read moreThey forgot their sign that they hate children. Went in with our 3 kids. I think we spent 4 minutes total in there. Admittedly our preschooler picked up some small shot glass tumbler. An over priced useless item for $14. Because he put the straw in his mouth they laughed and said we have to buy it. I get that is not clean. But do we think his mouth was any dirtier than the hands of any of the many people who have previously touched it? My husband handed over his credit card and they laughed again- “you’ll have to make him work for this, AHAHAHA”. It felt quite demeaning. It’s one thing to demand payment for a damaged item (this was hardly damaged), but it’s another thing to laugh at the customer. We were not laughing. They already have less than 4.0 rating, so you’d think they’d take customer service more seriously. Don’t open a store on a Main Street type place if you want items to remain pristine. They could have wiped this item off with a Clorox wipe and put it back. Nothing was broken, they just had no patience. Stuffy old people over charging for stuff 👎🏻👎🏻 photo taken just before I dumped this in the garbage where...
Read moreI purchased a $60 teal sweatshirt and after wearing it for just five minutes, the dye transferred heavily onto my hands and clothes, turning them teal green. When I returned to the store, I found that all of the other sweatshirts in that style had the same issue. Instead of receiving a refund for a clearly defective product, I was only offered store credit and forced to buy items I didn’t need just to avoid losing my money.
I understand return policies, but in this case the sweatshirt was unwearable and defective. An exception should have been made. Very...
