I ran into a situation where I had to have a generator. I went to Porterville HF to see what they had. The only one they had which met my needs was a Predator 4375. But it was a return and being sold "AS IS". Of course the HF guy swore that the generator had gone to their warehouse and completely checked out. It would have no problems or it would not have been returned to the store to be sold. So I bought it. I put oil then almost $30.00 worth of gas and went home to start up and use my much needed new generator. At home I set up the generator in a safe place and started it up. What an easy start and great sounding machine. For all of ten seconds. It seems the staff at HF did not fix/ replace/reset the CO2 sensor. So that brand new great running machine was worthless because it would not run over ten seconds at a time. But it was too late for me to return it that night. The next day I had business in Handford most of the day. I had the generator in the back of my SUV with intentions of taking it to Porterville once I had time. Someone informed me that there was a HF in Handford. What I did not know was that you can make a return from one HF to any HF. So I went to Hanford HF and explained the issue. They said no problem, we'll refund your purchase price if you have your receipt. I did. When I inquired how I could get all the gas in the predator, out, the HF staff almost fainted. Oh no, sir, we cannot take back the generator if there is any gas in it at all. Nor can you take the gas out of it here. So I had to go next door to a mall parking lot, take the gas line off the tank and drain out all the gas I had put in the night before. That completed, back to HF. Once I showed them the gas was removed they took charge of the machine and promptly refunded all my money. All in all not a bad place. Both places were pleasant to deal with. Both times I got exactly what I went there to get. Bad luck aside, I would still do business with both...
Read moreI'm so quick to complain and sometimes don't give kudos to those whom deserve them. Not long ago, I posted a negative post about Harbor Fright of Hanford. I've since visited the store countless times. It's a big toy store to me.
I can't help myself, the prices are great! The coupons to save on an already on sale item. Super Savings. I am lame, I'll admit, again I couldn't find an item. I asked as Associate to assistance and he took me to every item on my list. The kind of service an associate wants to provide, loves the job so much that it to the Associate, seems effortless. I thank the Associate that helped me. The counter Associates are very patient, supper helpful and friendly
We all have bad days. I regret the things said in an earlier post. Me having a bad day. Please forgive me for any inconvenience I may have caused. It's so good to have Harbor Freight in our Community.
Thank you Harbor...
Read moreAlthough it's very clean since it's newly opened, their new return policy really stinks! I received something as a gift some time ago and wanted to exchange it for the more expensive model and since I didn't have a receipt they wouldn't allow it. (It's not like I wanted money back) Also, whomever designed the place to face east was off their rocker. You can't enter the tiny parking lot from the other stores parking lot which is ridiculous! If you are in the large parking lot you have to cross 12th Ave and go into Home Depot parking lot to turn around and go back to be able to enter or just enter from 12th Ave. Lastly, having a "Parking Lot" sale, they definitely should have more than 2 registers opened especially when 6 other employees are just walking around and can clearly see the lines! Get it...
