People, can I have your attention please? Kuma Ramen Company is exactly the kind of alternative I’m looking for—something different, something you can’t find anywhere else around town, a place where the business puts pride and love into the product they make.
Fast food prices have skyrocketed, the quality has plummeted, and the morale and service at fast food joints have gone downhill. If I’m going to spend $15 on a so-called value meal, I’d much rather spend it at a locally owned family restaurant that takes pride in their service and the food they serve. Kuma Ramen Company is just that—the owners work in it and take great pride in their food.
Their small menu is a good thing because it means they’re not spreading themselves thin with an overabundance of items. They focus on what they do best, and it shows. According to Chef Gordon Ramsay, your menu doesn’t need to be big; it just needs to be delicious, and this wonderful mom-and-pop restaurant is exactly that—delicious.
I ordered the dark spicy ramen, and it was really good. My wife ordered the curry ramen, and it was even more delicious with just a hint of sweetness. We also got a side of their chicken karrage, egg rolls, gyoza, and tempura shrimp. All of them are served with a sweet sauce that reminds me of teriyaki for dipping. I had a mango cream soda to drink—it comes in an aluminum bottle, and I really, really liked it. I’d love to know where they get it so I could keep some at home. I’m a fan of almost anything mango.
The owner, who served our food, was very friendly and extremely informative. She showed us the machine they use to make fresh noodles every day, and you can definitely taste the difference between fresh noodles and something that came out of a bag. She also showed me the gigantic pot they use to make bone broth for the ramen. This thing must be close to 50 gallons and it takes more than a day to make a pot. If you’ve ever researched how to make bone broth, you know it’s a long and intricate process, perfect for those who appreciate authenticity and the complexity of making delicious food.
Give Kuma Ramen Company a try, they’ve only been open about two months, you won’t be sorry! The incredibly friendly owner is full of energy and happiness, and the food is top-notch. You’ll be supporting a locally owned business that truly cares about...
Read moreThis would be my second time here and each experience was wonderful. My first visit here was with my cousins who came in from out of town and we were all blown away by the quality of the food and how much you get for the price. Most importantly, the hospitality here makes the place feel very cozy, kind of like coming home to loved ones you can feel comfortable around. We had a nice conversation with the lady who owns the place along with her son which made us feel that much closer to the business. We learned that the noodles are made fresh in-house every day which is a nice change of pace from how other restaurants in the area do things.
We were able to try the spicy kuma ramen, the summer brisket ramen, the chicken karage, and the shrimp tempura, all of which were fantastic. I was especially excited to try the summer brisket ramen since you don’t really find cold buckwheat noodles anywhere else around here. My second time here was a pickup order. I got the “Mr. Tonkotsu” ramen and the shoyu chashu ramen, again, both being of very high quality. You can tell that the noodles are made from scratch, the broth is very clean and drinkable which I can’t say for most places, and the meat is always so unbelievably tender. I wouldn’t call myself a ramen expert, but compared to what I’ve had in the past, I feel like I can say that this is the closest to authentic ramen that you can get in the area. Heck, I would just call it 100% authentic!
Speaking of the meat, the barbecue station was open by my second visit. I was treated to a couple of free samples, and this is what will have me coming back again very soon. I had a piece of pork belly which was oh-so flavorful, but what really blew me away was the 13-hour brisket. This generous hunk of meat was unlike anything I’ve ever had. It instantly melted in my mouth like butter and the flavor easily made this single bite the best piece of meat that I’ve tasted in my entire life. I was told that the BBQ bar will be open every day from 11 AM, and I’m very much looking...
Read moreThis ramen spot is an absolute gem. I was completely blown away by the spicy brisket ramen – the broth was incredibly flavorful, and the brisket just melted in my mouth. And seriously, don't miss the gyoza; they're perfectly crispy and packed with flavor. Beyond the amazing food, what truly makes this place special is the incredibly welcoming atmosphere, largely thanks to the generous couple who run it. Their warmth and kindness make you feel right at home from the moment you step in. It's clear they pour their heart into every dish and every interaction, making it more than just a meal. They also added a BBQ menu Will definitely be coming...
