How is it that a town the size of Cadillac (population of about 10,000) has a full-service computer store like Cadillac Computer? Here is my story.
I live in Grand Rapids and come to Cadillac to visit friends and for the occasional hunting opportunity. This year I needed to find a solution for my computer needs. I have an Asus laptop that was an upper-end unit 10 years ago. It served me well, but started to show its age with a Windows 7 platform that, for reason of hardware limitations, was not compatible with Windows 10. And the 500GB internal drive was progressively losing capacity.
My options were to go to a Grand Rapids box store, to an internet merchant, or to an IT expert at cost in additional to the price for new hardware. I know enough about computers to get myself into trouble or end up purchasing a computer that was less fitting for my business needs.
My friend, who is a Cadillac resident, told me of his positive experience with Cadillac Computer. I was coming up for opening season on whitetail. I figured I would give Cadillac Computer a try.
I am so glad I did! In short order Dale, the business owner, figured out by asking me questions my computer needs and how I use my computer. He recommended three viable options that fit my budget. By the next day, and after a successful hunt, he had my new Asus notebook computer with a solid state internal drive set up with my principle programs and files transferred. He also had a new, 3X5 inch, external, one-terabit, Sabrent drive for my backup needs ready to go and provided a new external, 5.5 square inch, LG optical drive for my occasion DVD needs. He gave me an hour-and-half of undivided attention to make sure I understood and was comfortable with my new equipment. As an added value, he provided a means in my new computer for him to remotely resolve any unforeseen technical difficulties, since I live in Grand Rapids. I would never get this quality of personal attention if I went to a box store or online for a new computer.
Cadillac, in addition to being associated with a high-end car, is the last name of the French explorer, Le Sieur Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac, who founded Detroit. The name Cadillac is derived from an old French word, “cad”, meaning small. This word was often used by ancient inhabitants of Brittany, a territory in the northwestern peninsula of France, to refer to somebody who is small but a strong fighter. This describes Cadillac Computer well. Cadillac Computer is small enough to provide expert personal attention and strong in computer quality and value and support service for its customers. Cadillac Computer is a worthy destination point for personal, family, and small business computer needs. I will be calling on Dale again for my future computer needs.

Any new units purchased from Dale include custom setup for your needs and on-going service on your computers. I have been going to Dale for over ten years for my computing requirements and have purchased my last two laptops from him, that he set up to meet my needs. Our family in the northern Michigan area are also dedicated customers of Dales. Again, the go to computer store in Northern Michigan owned and operated by an independent...
Read moreDale went above and beyond in serving us when I brought in my laptop that had no power. Dale diagnosed the problem, and suggested that a new laptop would be a better solution. Then, he removed the SSD from the broken laptop, as well as the additional RAM, and made sure they both performed in the new laptop. When I got the new computer home, I still had all of my programs and files, without needing to reload anything. I was very impressed with Dale's extra work, as well as his perseverance in making sure everything from the broken laptop worked properly on the new laptop. Definitely a five-star experience! I highly recommend Cadillac...
