This store is amazing how ever some employees are so beyond rude. Although the nicest one i’ve felt with is Lisa, she is always making our trip to this pet smart so enjoyable. Me and my family will only go there if she is working, she’s so nice to us, and keeps everything 100% honest. I would want to give this place a 5 star, but unfortunately there is a few workers who are unpleasant and unprofessional to talk to or ask questions with. Monica, she is very rude, and when I ask questions, she rolls her eyes, and tells me to look up the answer, or she will tell me the smallest amount of information, that when i go to look up, is completely wrong, it’s hard to believe she is able to work at a pet store, and be leader. She is so very rude, and when my family gets crickets for our gecko, she blows in the bag. Now I’m not a cricket expert, but I don’t recall having to blow air into the bag, I paid a little over 11$ for my crickets and within 20 minutes they were mostly all dead, especially with this covid-19 going around it is not to professional for her to be doing that, and it’s a very unpleasing comfort. There is also this older lady, I would want to say rather in her mid 60’s-70’s who is very rude, and talkative, I’m rather one to talk to people then to be ignored, but being held up for 25 minutes talking, is a little bit of time wasted. She always recommends me to go to walmart or to go to a different pet store to “Get items cheaper” when it would only be a 0.50¢ difference, and I don’t mind spending that at pet smart because it’s a great brand. How ever, when i’m greeted by her when I enter the store it is a very rude and unwelcoming “Hi”, and is said in the rudest tone. I’ve felt with managers when needed with help, and Jess is very perky with an attitude, in a nice way, but she tends to have a very “know it all” attitude. I’ve asked her what dog food she recommends, and she recommended me one with almost everything I said my dog couldn’t have. Then when I had left the store with no food, she said “Have luck finding food, I recommend the best one you could ever possibly get and you didn’t purchase it.” How ever I love this store, I would love to see a change in employees who would not be all teenagers, but rather people who know about animals, and have good...
Read moreScheduled an appointment close to a month ahead of time (just before a long road trip). Mine is an outside dog. He gets groomed a couple of times a year. I checked in online this morning, but got caught in traffic on the way. I called ahead thinking that I would be about 5 minutes late. I looped through the automated phone system about 5 times hearing how important my call was to them before someone finally answered. They assured me that as long as I wasn't more than 15 minutes late they would take my dog. I reached their counter only three mintues late. The groomer seemed nice enough, but came out and "checked my dog over" before taking him back. This was my third visit, and I never remember anything like that happening before. She complained that he had dry skin, seemed displeased that he was dirty (as I said, he is an outside dog), and finally said that she could not take him because his dew claws were so long fearing they might have caused an infection. There was no sign of infection. The claws had not penetrated the skin. He didn't even seem bothered by her messing with them. I could get my fingernail under the tips. She called her supervisor for a second opinion, and I got the same story. I got the distinct impression that they were overbooked and wanted to get one of their appointments off the schedule. Being Thanksgiving week, I expected that it would be impossible to find an appointment elsewhere but was pleasantly surprised. I called Brittany at Petco in Heath. Read moreI went into the store today looking to purchase a parakeet. I walked around looking for the birds and not one employee asked if they could help me. The store was not busy at the time either. I found the parakeets that were for sale and saw an employee right next to them putting some items on the shelf and told her that I would like to purchase one of the parakeets and asked her if someone could help me. She said “ you want to purchase a parakeet and need someone to help you?” I told her “yes please”. She never moved but called someone and told them I wanted to purchase a parakeet and needed help. I stood there for over 10 minutes waiting for someone to come and get the bird for me and no one came. I picked up a couple of other items that I saw there next to the birds that I was going to purchase as well and again waited for someone to help me. The woman that I originally asked knew I was still waiting but never offered help or said anything about it. I watched a few other employees walking around but they all ignored me. When I saw other people come in and they received help with no problem while I was still waiting after all that time I put the items that I was going to purchase back on the shelf and walked out and not one person said anything to me. The woman who was supposed to have called for help never said a word to anyone that I was still waiting for help and didn’t care if I left or not.
