A Delicious Journey Through Italy in the Heart of Hendersonville - Homemade Pasta Noodles
Step into Homemade Pasta Noodles, and you'll instantly be transported to the rustic kitchens of Sicily. Nestled in the charming 7th Avenue Historic District, this quaint storefront on Maple Street, crowned with the tricolor flag of Italy, is the culinary dream of a woman known affectionately as 'The Pasta Lady'. Her authentic Italian heritage, a wealth of family recipes, and a profound love for sharing her culture with the community are the heart of this establishment.
Stepping inside is like taking a 75-year leap back in time, right into the heart of an Italian family's kitchen. The intimate seating for 25, adorned with traditional checkered tablecloths, radiates warmth and nostalgia. But it's the large open kitchen, showcasing all kinds of Italian ingredients, pasta-making equipment, sacks of authentic Italian flour, and more that steals the show.
My first experience at Homemade Pasta Noodles was nothing short of extraordinary. Booking the entire place for a private family dinner, we were treated to a culinary extravaganza by the famed Pasta Lady herself, Launa. Her sumptuous creations simply blew us away, leaving an indelible mark on our tastebuds, making it hard to believe we were experiencing this gastronomical miracle right here in western North Carolina.
But the delights of Homemade Pasta Noodles don't end there. On regular days, this homely haven opens its doors to the public for grab-and-go options like fresh pasta, savory meatballs, and other delights. It also hosts nightly cooking classes, offering an eclectic mix of Italian and other ethnic menus guided by local chefs.
Whether you're a Hendersonville native or planning a visit, Homemade Pasta Noodles is an absolute must-visit. Make sure you tell Launa that 'Ask Lyle' sent you. She'll likely respond with a hearty chuckle, adding a personal touch to your already memorable experience. In short, Homemade Pasta Noodles is more than just a place to grab a bite - it's an unforgettable culinary journey through Italy, right here in our...
Read moreWhat a little gem in the middle of Hendersonville! Owner, Launa, is a great host, storyteller, chef and teacher! I enjoyed a ladies' luncheon at The Pasta Lady with a group of about 20 neighbor gals that one of the women had set up as a private luncheon.
Launa told us wonderful family stories (going back to Sicily!) and then presented us with a most delicious luncheon with her very freshly-made pastas and marinara, along with a fabulous green salad (I had to buy one of the "secret" sauces/balsamic glaze that just made this salad divine!).
During lunch, I noticed a "calendar" of cooking classes for the upcoming month. At the top of the list was a class to learn how to make my most favorite Italian dish - eggplant parmesan. I signed up right away and inspired a girlfriend to join me.
A few weeks later we went back to The Pasta Lady for the 6pm class. I had no idea what to expect since it was my first ever cooking class! Launa instantly made the 8 attendees feel right at home with an appetizer and her delicious Italian bread. She then taught us how to make eggplant parmesan with each of us having our own 1/2 eggplant to prepare. A little while later, we had packaged up our own creations in a tin with a lid to cook at home, and Launa then fed us her eggplant parm that she made before we got to class, along with a delicious salad again (!).
It was a wonderful evening, and now I know how to make my most favorite Italian dish at home. Launa even emailed all of us the recipe with lots of details.
Don't hesitate to get in touch with Launa and her great staff to plan a memorable experience! I'll...

Be sure to look way ahead at her dinner schedule. Seats are reserved pronto when the schedule comes out. I cannot speak for her classes, but the guest seated next to me has attended a cooking class. She said it was crazy fun and she learned some very special cooking techniques and tips. So keep that into consideration, too. We also purchased fabulous Greek Olive oil and a super tasty chocolate bar, Launas Tomato sauce and a lasagna to take home with us. Be sure to bring your own wine, too. This is a WIN, WIN!!
Thank you, Launa! An experience we will always remember. Hope to see...
