So, I stopped in on a Friday morning seeing the open sign up. I was curious if they would serve a bloody Mary. The girl behind the BAR said she was only age 20 and could not serve alcohol. What!? I thought the sign said BAR! She said her boss would be there in an hour. I said, "Ok, I'll be back." After walking around and visiting other shops I returned. The boss, another female that didn't seem to be much over 21, said she would make me one. For $9.24, I was handed a small glass with a sliver of a slice of a pickle and 3 old tasting green olives. The drink itself didn't taste bad and the salt & pepper on the rim was a nice touch. The conversation in the room between the two of them and another young man was peppered with curse words that I didn't care to hear. There was not another soul in there until a couple came in for breakfast and the two women shouted, almost simultaneously, "We're out of eggs!" (So you're open for breakfast, but you don't have eggs!?) They sent the couple down the road to another establishment to dine. After I left, I was telling an owner of a local coffee shop about my experience, and she said, "That's why they're not doing very well." I don't know who reads these reviews, but if you're the owner. I'd suggest getting some new help. I know it's hard to find good help, but if you're BAR is going to survive,...

The drink menu was way more than we had expected. From any martini under the sun to a great selection of upscale whisky and bourbon. The bartenders that night were a lot of fun given we were sort of loud and in a place where you can also sit down for a nice dinner. We were full from our previous dinner stop and just ready to let loose.
Lucky for us (as we were on the louder side with a larger group) that is not an issue. Outside they have a great patio area with room for 50 and service was perfect.
Do yourself a favor after visiting all the winery spots around town. Take a shower, dress up if you must and stop in at the Bank Bar.......you won't be disappointed.
PS If you just want to get loaded for under $30 with the 20s crowd this is not your place. Go down to the Concert Hall and Barrel, that is your kind of spot. Not that there is anything...
Read moreWe just recently stayed in the library suite for a few days, and we had a lovely time. It was during the week so the bar was closed and everything was pretty quiet. The owners were very accommodating with us - since we arrived and left via train, they let us check in and out early/late so we didn't have to drag our luggage around town with us. I especially appreciated some of the hospitable touches they provided, like having a little fresh quiche and a few yogurts in the fridge (along with a simple coffee bar and a few other breakfast/snack items). Overall we were very happy with our stay, and would recommend the Schiller guest...
