The staff and service were great—everyone was very kind and lovely. My issue is with the structure of the Glowbar business model and appointment setup. I booked an exfoliating facial in preparation for a photo shoot and knew I wanted at least a few extractions. However, I was told that dermaplaning was the best option for exfoliation, but there wasn’t enough time in the appointment to do both dermaplaning and extractions.

I would have appreciated knowing this limitation when I booked the appointment and having the option to extend the session (for an additional fee) to receive both services. Additionally, Glowbar should consider being more transparent during the booking process. Rather than listing all service options and stating that your provider will help you choose, it would be more helpful to clarify that only one main service is offered per appointment. Many customers come in with a clear idea of what they want, and that should be acknowledged and better accommodated.

I got a facial recently and it gave me THE WORST breakout i’ve had in years. I have all these white pustulates and bumps all over my cheek and on my brow which i have never had before. i’m embarrassed to even go out in public because i look diseased. These aren’t even actual estheticians who have deep knowledge on skincare - they recommend the same products and use the same products every time. They ask what your concerns are but don’t do much to tailor to them. i also question the hygiene in this place because one time, the girl who did my facial touched a dirty stool then my face right after with her bare hands. I’m so upset with this reaction because my skin was so smooth and clear before. And, no, it is NOT purging. I’ve had facials from here before and have never had a reaction this bad, so this is not my skin getting used to the products that they use. And I always use a very basic routine for the next 2 days after my facial (cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen), make sure I don’t touch my face unless i know my hands are clean, etc. this place is such a rip off. take this as a warning and please save your time...

Very disappointed and frustrated after my appointment. I called to schedule my appointment since I would be using a gift card for payment and requested a specific aesthetician I had during a previous appointment. I was not scheduled to be seen by the aesthetician I requested and when I was getting my facial I wasn’t sure what was being put on my face or what was being done for part of my service. My skin was “not ready for extraction” so what was the substitute service during my appointment then? I spent over half the time with warm towels on my face which is something I can do at home and seemed like a filler to this bare minimum appointment.
