They offer no programs to help you. They just offer food and clothes. There might be 3 employees that are sensitive and compassionate, after all the residents are there because of a bad situation and need patience and understanding not yelling or cursing at on a daily basis. The staff is quick to kick you out at the times they deem necessary but they never open on time, never let the residents in at the scheduled time so they are left outside in any weather (rain, freezing temps, snow). It's almost like the staff wants the residents there for years because they give no positive motivation to leave. The case managers could take a course on how to help the people who come through their doors. It's shameful they advertise as a safe place, physically and mentally, to help the homeless. Total false...

The only people who have ratings above 2 stars are the staff and donators. Meanwhile, I'm watching a bodycam video on YT right now about an incident at this shelter, the first time I heard of this shelter. Not a good look, it's a shame to see that homeless shelters across the country run like this. I'm from NY and thought it was a NY thing. It's an American thing, to discard of your vulnerable and needy, and lie about their welfare at shelters... just nasty. Be honest and say you saw roaches in the kitchen, be honest and say you wouldn't want to spend the night here, don't just say volunteering one night was cool because the chef was friendly. Who cares?
