We had some friends visiting from the Westcoast a few weeks ago and wanted to make sure we showed them a great time. It was their last night in town, and even though we had done a ton, we couldn’t let the last night go to waste. Living in Jersey City for 3 years, I honestly have never been out in Hoboken. I’m a 40+ hip-hop, R&B, old school vibe city girl. That’s not an easy find on this side of the Hudson, so we usually stick to NYC or BK. After coming back from the west village my boyfriend suggested we have a night cap and we stopped at Madd Hatter. It was a Sunday so it was chill, not crowded but still a small crowd. We were greeted at the door and everyone was really friendly before seating us at a table just outside the dance floor. Our waitress Bailey came and got our drink orders right away. Once she learned the majority of us were visiting and we also had a birthday at midnight, she was more than accommodating!!!! She was THE BEST!! Always made sure drinks were filled, engaged and was so friendly. She even went out of her way to take pics and videos for us, truly made our impromptu stop here special!! I’m sure all the waitresses are great, but our girl Bailey was top tier and I would go back to this bar based on our experience with her alone. Thank you so much girl for making the night special. At first the DJ was playing the music I would expect to hear in Hoboken, so no shade at all. A lot of fist pumping dance music. As a HUGE music lover, I can appreciate it all. Then he flipped the block and surprised us! I think he could sense what our group likes lol and he started to play some JAMS! Again there was not a huge crowd and we definitely stuck out as the life of the party so we really appreciated him switching it up a little and immediately were out of our seats dancing throughout every track he played. Shoutout to the DJ that Sunday, best part of the night!!! Overall I was surprisingly impressed. I’m not sure if they have other nights that play old school or R&B/neo soul, but if not, it could be new opportunity to think about that could draw in new customers. Especially since it is hard to find over here. Maybe once a month Soulful Sundays lol Either way, I would recommend checking this spot out even if you think it’s not your typical vibe. The service and friendliness alone is hard to find these days and now more than ever, we need that with our fun.

Mad Hatter left a lasting impression as my friends and I embarked on an evening filled with culinary delights and vibrant ambiance. Our primary attraction was the promise of unlimited wings, and Mad Hatter did not disappoint. The extensive wing menu covered both boneless and bone-in varieties, showcasing a tantalizing array of flavors. From the zesty Cajun and aromatic garlic parm to the classic Buffalo heat and the intriguing Asian chili, each flavor was a journey in itself. The wings, whether boneless or traditional, were cooked to perfection, boasting a crispy exterior and succulent interior that made every bite a savory adventure. The atmosphere n ambience was a delightful blend of lively energy and welcoming warmth. The establishment exuded a charm that was conducive to both casual gatherings and more festive celebrations. The vibrant setting elevated our overall experience, making it not just a meal but a memorable event. Our interaction with the bartender added a positive note to the evening as well. Their professionalism and amiability were noteworthy, enhancing the overall hospitality of Mad Hatter. However, it's crucial to mention a notable aspect that could catch patrons off guard – a mandatory 20% tip. While the service undoubtedly warrants acknowledgment, some guests might appreciate knowing this in advance to factor it into their overall budget.

12/3/2023 Went to watch the 49ers vs eagles game plenty of tvs nice atmosphere very good vibes until we ordered food. The waitress for the most part was nice my food came i ask for a condiment to go with my food and it took almost 25mins to get to our table while we watched her twirl her hair, mingle with a lot of customers and staff oh and just stand around texting on her phone. I only got the condiment because we asked one of the bus boys and it took him less than 5 mins to bring it to the table, then that's when she shows up to say it took so long because she had to ring it up which she didn't at that point i didn't even want the meal it was cold and i was annoyed. She offered to reheat it or pack it to go and i wanted neither but she said she couldnt do nothing else without a manager so i asked to speak to the manager. She went to get the manager and said they weren't available so 45mins later we asked no manager so we asked the door person about the manager he said he wasnt there but he will call him after a while the waitress came back to the table said the manger still isn't there but she went outside and i guess the door person talk the Manger what our issue was and the waitress came back and took the meal off our tab.... No hard feelings towards the waitress but she has to learn to work her tables better it should never take almost 25mins for a table to get a condiment.... I don't think it's a bad spot but i think they need to revamp some things. The meal looked good but i was so annoyed with the situation i didn't even want it anymore

I was pleasantly surprised by my delivery experience from Madd Hatter on July 4th. The food came within 30 minutes, as quoted - I guess everyone was probably at a barbecue instead of ordering food. I was a bit iffy about this place since it didn't have glowing reviews, but Seamless had a 25% off your first order, so I gave it a shot and I'm glad I did. We ordered the philly cheesesteak panini, Italiano burger (salami, pepperoni, fresh mozz, tomato sauce), and chicken bacon ranch pizza. The philly was pretty terrible. The description said it was shaved steak, but it was more like strips of flavorless steak, and there wasn't a lot of it. It was also served on this weird pita bread. If this is how all of their paninis are, I wouldn't try any of the other ones. On the flip side, the burger was actually very good. It was cooked to a perfect medium rare, and it wasn't too oily. The pizza was surprisingly good too, for a non-pizzeria. But just a warning, it doesn't really taste good the next day so I guess you'll just have to eat the whole pie at once. I wouldn't mind trying some of their other pies. The Hangover Burger sounds really good, albeit heavy (stuffed with bacon, american cheese, ham, sunny-side up egg, and hash brown). Maybe I'll stop in for brunch next time!

I came for New Year’s Eve with a group of friends and we were completely disappointed and didn't get the experience we paid for. Our tickets mentioned: • Top Shelf Open bar 7PM-1AM • Separate VIP Area w/ Private Bartender Section • Complimentary Champagne toast at midnight • Full Buffet & Unlimited Appetizers Of Choice • Live Times Square Ball Drop TV Broadcast • Free Coat Check • Live NY & NJ DI's rotating throughout the night but we only got the alcohol that i highly doubt was even top shelf alcohol and a mediocre at best DJ. No one was able to give us any answers about it. Doors opened at 7pm and around 8pm there was no more food and we were told they were not bringing out anymore. It took until at least 9:30pm for the coat check to be open and we were told the owner decided to charge $5 for a free coat check, and when I told and showed the guy at coat check about the ticket I purchased with a FREE coat check, he just shrugged not caring at all. It was not organised at all and I was disappointed with the experience. They didn’t even have the LIVE broadcasting of the ball drop.
