Such an annoying way to operate a business. I was researching laser hair removal in Hoboken. Of course none of these places just list info on their websites and all of them make you do a song and dance for ANY info but laser away has been the worst. The day of sending an inquiry to them i had multiple texts, two phone calls, and an email. Ugh! I set up a phone consultation and was already dreading what I felt would be a hard pitch based on the inundation of messages I'd gotten. The woman was nice (other than starting off the call, which was on Mother's Day, by literally asking "are you a mother" which was not the greatest to someone who had a miscarriage 2 weeks ago lol but hey she didn't know I'll give that a pass).

And it was indeed a hard sell where it was framed as "let me cut you a deal" and "you must act today to save $200 with a Mother's Day promo" Also "i'm creating a package for you with armpits included" like ma'am I dont want my armpits lasered so I dont need this upselling package. It was such a turn off I got off the phone and left it on she'd send an invoice and i could decide. Well I thought this would just be an itemized list but it is LEGIT a Square invoice emailed to me and i've since gotten 3 emails (in 3 days) about overdue bill. SOOOO scammy.

OH and for anyone wondering --their price was LAUGHABLE. They were trying to charge me for almost $1900 for 3 package of legs, bikini, and armpits (that again i did not want or ask for). I priced out 2 other spas in Hoboken and both charged LITERALLY more than half that and have been sooo much less used car salesman-ish with their communication and approach (and also seemed a lot more conservative regarding advice and after care rather than just pushing sessions).

I emailed Laser away asking them to delete invoice and stop emailing (i'm scared to just block because I dont want to miss other correspondences from Square from other businesses that are valid). Really regret even...

I am giving Laser Away in general 1 star, not just this particular location, although this is where I had my treatment done.

To start, the sales representative was extremely attentive while the sale was happening. I had a Thermage treatment on my neck and lower face. I paid $1.2K and was pushed into using a lender instead of my regular credit card, which makes disputing charges almost impossible.

After the procedure, I was told I would need to wait before results became visible. Once that time passed, I had concerns—mainly that I may have been sold a treatment that wasn’t right for me, or that the salesperson had set my expectations incorrectly. I reached out by phone and email, and this is where the 1 star is truly deserved.

The staff seemed trained to avoid taking responsibility. Even managers did not seem empowered to help when a customer was unhappy. The responses I received—whether by phone, text, or email—felt dismissive, almost as if I was being told, “Everything looks normal, now please go away.” My concerns about the lack of results were never acknowledged.

It was disappointing, especially since I chose Laser Away because it is a “reputable” company with many locations nationwide. I later realized that the same treatment is offered elsewhere at a fraction of the cost, and more importantly, at places where you can speak directly with the owner and feel valued as a customer. Here, I never felt they were willing to listen, help, or take my concerns seriously. They took my money in ten minutes, and that was the end of it.

It has now been almost a year, and my dissatisfaction remains. The lack of post-treatment support is beyond frustrating. If you are considering this type of treatment, I suggest thinking twice. You may be better off with a doctor or a smaller clinic where the owner is involved, so that you feel appreciated and have a better chance of achieving real...
