Alii Animal Unleashed — Local services in Honolulu

Every pawrent wants to take their fur baby somewhere that treats their little one like ohana and I can say, categorically, that is Ali’i. We’ve been taking Sunny to Ali’i for just over two years now for his veterinary, grooming, and daycare needs. Having everything in one place has so many benefits: His medical records and needs are always being considered - Sunny gets allergies and has at times needed special spray for hot spots or even to be pulled out of daycare for his allergy shot or a check-up. It puts my mind at ease knowing he’s in their care. Grooming can happen at in the same day with daycare so I don’t have to make extra stops. It’s a familiar place so he doesn’t stress for all of his different needs and just trots right in.

I can’t thank the whole staff over at Ali’i Unleashed enough for taking care of my little man, like a birthday photo shoot (thank you Peggy and everyone who got him to pose! they’re my absolute favorite pictures) and giving me updates on his day - even when they’re funny/embarrassing ones (thank you Kea!). Also a shout out to Manny & Hae who keep this chow mix looking fresh - it’s a lot of hair and my vacuum appreciates...

Kinda small for the price. My German shepherd puppy was shaking from fear when we entered, so I didn't end up leaving her there. An associate crowded her space while she was terrified, and she retreated; ending up in a corner. I asked her to give her space, and she did right away. They were very respectful and refunded the deposit. They agreed she shouldn't be there. 3 stars because I was envisioning an indoor basketball court sized environment from the advertising. Also smack dab in the middle of cracktown. They said they would of walked her outside, but there was no way I would want her walking in that waste and glass. They positively would have respected that request, but then again the space was small for an extended stay. Definitely not 1 star, if your dog thrives in that environment, the staff was really nice. Underwhelming is a good word...

Unleashed is like a bomb shelter. All the dogs are barking when you call because they are clearly upset. No one was playing with the dogs. And if not in cages, were by themselves in fence enclosures. Until a client drops by, then they announce it & staff scurries over to act like they were playing with dog. Go for yourself. I am glad when I recommended it to friend, without seeing it, she would not board her dog there. They are definitely short staffed & opened up various locations without having enough vets, front desk people or employees to play with dogs (last one refers to their “resort grooming” - Unleashed). Best vet they ever had left Ali’i (Dr Gupta). All great reviews pertain to him or are written by owner & staff as though are clients. This is just a...
