Thrills Soft Serve — Restaurant in Honolulu

Okay… I came here because It was different than other ice cream shops and my boyfriend and I wanted to enjoy it (I gave two stars because the flavor I did taste was good) - however as a fist time visitor to Hawai’i I’m not familiar with the flavors, so, I asked for a sample *as many other ice cream shops allow to make sure the customer is satisfied with their choice. They only allow ONE TINY sample per person, I was baffled they have about 6 unique flavors — so when I asked if they could make an exception for one more that MY BF AND I CAN SHARE so we can make a decision they said no, with an attitude. At this point my enthusiasm is fading, but it really faded when the options for toppings were mentioned: you get one free topping (again SMALL portion) and then pay for every additional one. After picking the only flavor I tasted -_- I left the shop very unsatisfied with my tiny cup and ended up searching for another shop (we were close to just leaving without buying, they definitely could’ve gotten more $ out of us if we were able to try flavors and were customer friendly) … I found Sweet Creams around the corner about a 2 minute drive, the energy was great from the moment we walked in to ordering. Plus you get MORE ice cream for the same price and leave satisfied. I don’t leave much reviews only when I feel I should share an experience for others who go somewhere with high expectations / or with kids and get poor service.

Okay so I also had an off putting experience and needed to check the reviews to be validated. Shout out to the comrades below. My partner is lactose intolerant and this place is advertised online as having dairy free options. Only the banana oat milk is dairy free. So we get there, that is clarified by a woman serving us. My partner selects his toppings and we look away to let her do her thing. She comes back with the ube ice cream which I gather could have been confusing because my partner wanted Ube pillow toppings. After we checked, she was so done and went to the back and called on a colleague to assist. I realize customer service isn't fun but yo, the ambience of the space is so light hearted and curated. The experience, less so. Shout out to the second server who helped. Mind you, we were with our nieces who had just flown in from Asia and this display as American culture /...

My Alpha Gamma Delta Sister of over 25 years planned a Thrills and Purve' day which is soft serve ice cream and donuts. Our first stop Thrills, with the order of banana pudding on a vanilla use cone with that giant marshmallow on top, strawberry mochi, fruity pebbles, and sprinkles. The second cone was cookie monster ice cream, Oreo flavored ice cream with brownies, oreos, sprinkles and theat giant marshmallow. Third cone, not pictured, ube flavored ice cream, strawberry mochi, fruity pebbles and the giant marshmallow. The ice cream in the cone can get a bit messy but it is yummy. Not sweet at all but flavorful. I enjoyed this great little ice cream spot on piikoi across from Ala Moana. Street metered parking...
