Very good show, with very talented performers and musicians. Definitely recommend seeing this show if you visit Waikiki.
The theater is smaller, but it means that even the seats in the back have very good views of the show. Sound was great, and the visuals were also impressive. The seats were comfortable. I was surprised to find some left over trash below the seat when I arrived though. Finding trash cans in or even immediately outside the theater was difficult. Also it's a bit of a walk to the nearest restroom, so be sure to go before you head up to your seat.
Refreshments were a little pricey, but not really much more than what you find at other bars/restaurants in Waikiki. They did have a nice selection of drinks to choose from. Snacks were a little bit more expensive than I would have expected, with popcorn being the worst offender.
The staff were a mixed bag. Some were very excited to welcome guests and made the experience that much better. Others were quite grumpy and it was obvious they didn't want to be there. They also need to work on guest arrival and departure. The lobby at the top of the first escalator is very confusing on arrival with no noticeable signage on where to go. The same lobby gets way too crowded upon exit as there were not many staff members directing guests and signage to direct people to the exit was not very visible.
The overall show is fun and has multiple entertaining skits, but at times they do feel a bit dis-jointed. I can see why some people complain that it feels like there is too much filler, but I think the issue is that one segment doesn't always "flow" into another as well as say a Vegas Cirque du Soleil does. The story is good, and does a great job of moving through Hawaiian history/lore, but at times some of the segments feel like they were forced in. The show is totally worth going to and it is quite enjoyable, but don't expect the sheer grandeur of a...
Read moreI haven’t been to all Cirque du Soleil shows, only about half of them, but while some left me with mixed feelings, I truly love Cirque in general - I’m obsessed with their performances. But this show, This one was something extraordinary. I felt such pure and captivating emotions the entire time - I usually get a bit bored at least once during a show, but not this time.
It was the perfect balance - choreography, costumes, lighting and atmosphere, acrobatics, music… everything just clicked. Even the clown, for the first time ever, made me laugh like an adult - not just a silly act, but genuinely funny. It was just magical. I left the theater absolutely thrilled and honestly, I wish everyone could experience it at least once.
Before going, I read reviews to decide on the best seats - and it’s true what people say: there really aren’t any bad seats. The venue is quite small, which is great. I usually worry with my short height that I won’t see much (especially since my eyesight has gotten worse in the past few years), but everything was perfect. I sat in section 201 row AA, seat 19 and I’d honestly recommend this row as one of the best options - you are close enough to see the stage clearly, and since some parts of the show happen in the middle of the theater, you’ll get a perfect view from there. If you sit too close to the front, you might miss the full picture. Sitting a bit farther back is totally fine too - people around me had a great view as well. The only thing I’d recommend is choosing a seat closer to the center of the stage - it just gives a bit more balance. But even if you end up on the side, it’s still a wonderful experience.
The organization was great - no need to come too early, there were no long lines (my show was 8pm). The temperature inside was just right - not too hot, not too cold. I wore shorts and a thicker shirt, and it felt perfectly...
