My experience here was horrible
First of all the building is very old. We started out in our first unit which was facing the beach, great but our unit was over a pub. we we were not told the proximity of this Sothe noise each night was loud music. When we moved to our next unit to the building across the street the unit faced the street, it was more modern on the interior. We were there a day when the sink drain clogged. We were not cooking any meals, so no grease was being put down the drains we were going out for our meals. This was water that would not drain and banana peels that was put down the garborator. The plumber was there when we were there and told us that these are very old drains and we were the unlucky tenants in the unit when it clogged. This was our issue with the property manager. They did not want to discuss further and said that we caused the problem.
They were not in any way cooperative to any conversation.
The third unit which was back in the first building was the worst. It was very dirty when my daughter moved in. The walls we're filthy. It looked like no one vacummed behind the tables. When I showed up and moved furniture there was popcorn kernels under everywhere When I pulled open the pull out couch the mattress was disintegrated and when I lifted it up there was chocolate droppings (I think) under the mattress. The termite inspector did show up late in the day he was scheduled. (Noon). So we proceeded to make our lunch. He then showed up and he came through. He mentioned that the wood casing around the doors was hollow as the termites had eaten through the wood. He checked the premises but as we were going to be visiting suggested that this be done after we left. We later discussed with out daughter and concluded that the termite issue be resolved after she left.
The cleaning of the unit was to have been done mid rental. It was not!! There is no need for Hawaii properties to come in near the end to clean the unit that is why they were asked not to come in. The property manager neglects to put in all the FACTS
As far as terminating our lease as she suggests we could not we would have lost ALL OUR MONEY. As we were paid ahead
Regards. We will never use this...

I originally checked into a different place through a different agency, but had to move out of it because conditions of that unit was too bad. So, my family and I tried to find a different place very urgently.
I tried a few places from web and finally got in contact with Hawaii Vacation Properties. Kat and Jim of HVP introduced us to a very nice unit in the heart of Waikiki at a very reasonable pricing and they were really, really helpful throughout the process. They were also very accommodating with the dates, too - the unit that we liked had 2-month minimum stay but we only needed a place for only about 50 days or so. We were already forfeiting a lot of money because of early termination from the prior unit. Knowing all these, Kat and Jim let us use the unit for less than the minimum stay!
More fun to come - I had to do all these abroad (from Korea) because I had to come back to Korea during middle of my trip for a couple weeks for business, leaving behind a pregnant wife and 60-yr old mother (both of them don't really speak English). And HVP folks worked with my pregnant wife and mother really well!! From the initial contact to showing the unit to my wife to final booking, everything was done in SIX HOURS. Not six days, but six hours!
I really really recommend HVP - I can't say this enough and I will definitely use them again when I visit Hawaii in the future. HVP people were all very professional, nice and accommodating.
Kat, Jim and other folks at HVP - I really appreciate everything you did for my family. You saved our trip.
I can't say this enough - thank...
Read morePretty difficult to communicate with. I asked about 2-3 time for some clarification on pricing (pretty straightforward stuff like, 'the quote for the dates that you sent me via email doesn't match what I see on the website when I go to book and I'm confused about which one should be right) . I kept getting single line answers that only confused me more like, literally, "Prices in 2021 are higher - Kevin". But... the quote you gave me also said 2021? It's fine if it's the more expensive price but the website says it's 2200/month, your quote says 2200/month, but when I go to book the receipt says it's 4400/month on a unit that should max out at 3100/month based on your website. I really don't mind if that's the actual price, I don't feel like it was a bait and switch, it's just unnecessarily confusing and I kind of expect better clarification if I ask for it, rather than getting even more confused by a terse response, like you're not even really paying attention to what I'm asking. As a customer, I just was really, genuinely confused and that's not a good feeling, so I just picked a different location. I figure if they're this bad about communicating when they're trying to get my business, they will only get worse...
