Our recent experience with The Surf Bus on the beautiful island of Oahu was nothing short of amazing. From the moment we boarded the bus until the end of the tour, it was clear that we were in for a special treat. Our driver and tour guide, Uncle Kevin, was the heart and soul of the journey, making this an unforgettable day.
Uncle Kevin's passion for Oahu and his wealth of knowledge were evident from the get-go. His warm smile and infectious enthusiasm immediately put a smile on everyone's face, and his love for the island was palpable. As we drove around the island, he shared fascinating stories, historical insights, and local legends that added depth and meaning to our exploration. It felt like having a personal encyclopedia of Oahu right there with us.
What truly set Uncle Kevin apart was his unwavering dedication to making our day the best of our trip. He went above and beyond to ensure that we were engaged, informed, and entertained throughout the entire journey. His commitment to our experience was evident, and it made all the difference.
The activities planned for the day were nothing short of extraordinary. Snorkeling at Sharks Cove was a highlight. The crystal-clear waters teeming with a vibrant array of fish and marine life created a truly immersive and magical experience. Paddleboarding up the river on the North Shore was another incredible activity. The serene surroundings and the opportunity to spot sea turtles in their natural habitat left us in awe.
The Surf Bus experience, with Uncle Kevin at the helm, was a testament to the power of local expertise and passion. It's not just a tour; it's an immersion into the heart and soul of Oahu. If you want a day that you'll treasure for a lifetime and a tour guide who genuinely cares about making it special, The Surf Bus with Uncle Kevin is the way to go. Read moreIf you are on the fence about a tour to the North Shore, stop deciding and do this one. Uncle Kevin, aka our tour guide, was awesome. He was very knowledgeable and friendly, felt like we had known him for years. Our first stop was at the Green World Coffee Farm which was greatly appreciated for an 8am tour. After that, the tour group got to talking about the local fruit and how much several of us wanted to try the ice cream bananas grown on the island and guess what, he said he knew of a fruit stand that sells locally grown fruit near by if we didn’t mind getting back a little later than planned we could make an unscheduled stop. The stop was so worth it; if your group also stops…make sure to try the bananas of course but also the non gmo papayas, nothing like any papaya I have ever tasted. After this our family went to the waterfall to swim, while other chose to go snorkeling and biking. The waterfall was great, bring cash if you want to shop near the falls because the little shop doesn’t take cards. Then we went back to town for lunch, we grabbed some sushi from the grocery store which is made fresh every day and then also went over to the food trucks. Seven brothers has a great burger and chicken samdwhich, and aji limo has some awesome chicken wings. We took out lunch over to the beach to eat. Next stop was kayaking or paddle boarding to see the turtles, which was also so fun. After the kayaking we cooled down with a shave ice from Matsumoto. Perfect...
Read moreI highly recommend this, especially if you are on your own, which was my case. The bus picked me up from my hotel. The bus was brand new and was clean. The driver was really friendly and gave some information about the area, one the way up to each site, and the history. I believe his name was Sam, and he’s been in Hawaii for many generations, from the 1850s by way of New Zealand. We went to the macadamia nuts and coffee place. It was cute, and nobody badgered us to buy anything. We could sample the coffee and nuts. Then we went to the North Shore. We were told our choices. I chose the waterfall because I never went to a waterfall to swim. The grounds were immaculate. The waterfall wasn’t that crowded. There’s a storage place if you need it but I felt fine leaving my backpack there. It is cold but you get adjusted really quick! I had lunch at the waterfall. For the more ambitious, you could do the waterfall and then the beach but I took my time at the waterfall. Then we went to Haleiwa and I did stand up paddleboarding. Sam gave us a demonstration and it’s easy to do, and if you think you can’t do it, you can do it kneeling. I finished and had enough time to wander the area. Then we were brought back to our hotels and along the way Sam showed us some landmarks. I am glad I did this and the price is reasonable considering renting a car, parking, and admission might...
