4/30/2022 Stopped by early (around 7:30am on a Saturday) to pick up a birthday lei for my pal. They had lots of different, colorful leis in the refrigerated cases and they were busy, as usual. I ended up picking a lavender bozu with pikake lei. Since I had other shopping to do, I asked if I could pay for it and come back to pick it up. The friendly worker was very accommodating and assured me that she would have it in the fridge for me until I returned. Came back after my shopping and when the worker spotted me she immediately handed me the lei. My pal loved it when I gave it to her at her birthday celebration. Thank you, Lin's Lei Shop!
2/10/2022 This is my completely overdue Lin's Lei Shop review. I went to Lin's on 7/17/2021 to order leis for pickup on 7/30/2021. The worker that greeted me was very helpful in explaining the types of leis they had or could get. I ended up ordering two white orchid leis with red roses and red ribbon, two kukui nut leis with mock orange and blue ribbon, and one Hilo Maile. The white orchid leis were $12 each. The kukui leis were $16 each, and the Hilo Maile was $50. The lady took down my information which included my name and phone number and assured me that they would be ready for pickup on 7/30/2021 between 8-9am. She gave me a carbon copy receipt along with my credit card receipt to show that I had paid. When I picked up on 7/30, they were busy and their refrigerated cases were filled with all kinds of leis & flowers as well. My leis were ready and waiting for me. It was easy pickup as I showed her the receipt, she showed me the leis and bagged them, and I was on my way. All the flowers were so fresh and the maile was really full and shiny. I've been here before and I'm a Lin's customer for life. They...
Read moreAs my friends and I were waking through Chinatown, I spotted a Ruby Ball Cactus for sale that was displayed along the sidewalk at Lin's Lei Shop. A Ruby Ball cactus is actually two cacti that are manually grafted together. A short, green stem made from a cut of the Queen of the Night cactus acts as the base with a root system, fused with a colorful albino cactus ball on top, usually found in red, yellow or orange.
So why the big deal? My mom recently started a succulent terrarium with unique-looking plants, including an Orange Ball cactus though it recently died. She was so bummed about it and couldn't find a replacement anywhere on Maui, so I knew having this'd make her happy.
I, including one of the workers thought the cactus would never pass through security due to the dirt, but my friend insisted she transported a plant to Maui without issue. So, I paid them $5.00 and the worker wrapped the pot in some paper and placed it a corsage container for hand-carried transport, like a piece of fragile glass.
The precious cargo passed through security without question and lit up my mom's face as she received it, shouting in surprise with "Where did you find it"?!
So thank you, Lin's Lei Shop, for carrying this elusive Caryophyllales that made...
Read moreAfter decades of ordering and enjoying the flowers and leis at Lin’s Lei Shoppe I had a disappointing and rude experience from an employee assisting me … I placed and paid for a very large order … nevertheless instead of explaining why my order wasn’t ready he accused me of possibly cancelling … it ensued in rude words to me and arguing with me .
I’ve done business with Lin for decades with grace and gratitude .. this young man had. No respect for me as a longtime customer with a very sizable order of nearly $600!
I have other options to shop … I will consider whether or not to keep my loyalty to Lin personally or move on elsewhere. I’m insulted and feel very sad for Lin that this young man was disrespectful of her business and myself !
My wishes that you do not experience the same ungratefulness of this young man . ;(
Now an hour later I picked up my order and met with Lin who was her typical sweet and grateful person … my order wasn’t ready and perfectly packed .
I will not allow one young man’s rudeness and arrogance stopped me from Supporting Lin and LIN’s LEI SHOPPE IN HAWAII . We now live in Washington So so seeing my vendors in Hawaii Is always a warm experience to which I...
