I never write reviews good or bad but I feel the need to write this one. I went to this place yesterday and I will not be a returning customer. I came in wanting a pedi/mani and asked for something SUPER simple which was ombré purple nails and a matching color on my toes as well. The woman who did my toes hit my skin a few times with the electric nail file but it wasn’t that big of a deal and my toes turned out fine. The man who did my nails was Brandon. He told me he would do the ombré with an airbrush which I was fine with. He had me pick out the colors I wanted and then got started. I didn’t realize or notice at the time but he cut too much around my nail and now my fingers are sore and hurt. Once he did the base color he got up from the chair without saying a word to me and walked out of the salon completely. After some time I got up and asked another lady if he was planning on coming back. They called him and he came back. He asked me what happened and I said “you left were you going to finish?” And he said another lady was going to do the airbrush part. He didn’t tell me that before he walked out of the salon. I told him to forget the airbrush and just do it with a brush and that I was fine with that. He finished my nails and they look ok but the lack of communication and walking out was completely unprofessional to me. And now I have to sit here with sore fingers from the cuticle cutting. I attached a picture where you can see how deep the sides of my...
Read moreI've been wanting to try this place out as it is near to my apartment and would be very convenient for me (only reason i gave a star). She did not ask the usual question about cutting down my nails and just went for broke. And she even cut me a couple of times without so much as a sorry. As soon as she put my feet in the paraffin bags, she grabbed the lotion and settled in to start the massage that came with the package of service I paid for. Some woman comes in without an appointment for a wax and the nail lady stands up without saying a word to me and goes to do the wax. I waited about 20 mins for her to return (may have been longer, but it was exactly 17 mins from the time I remembered to clock it) and when she finally returns, I asked her what was that about, she tells me she was waiting for the paraffin to get hard. I advised her that it doesn't take that long and that it was not my first time to get that type of service. She doesn't apologize and says "I will finish now". Of course the 2 girls that were also getting mani and pedi respectively looked at me. But guess what, because of the delay in my service, they left a good 10 mins before me even though I started before them.
I may just be one customer to them and a new customer at that, but had I received the service I paid for I would have brought back my friends and referred them to Lux nails as well. I'm bummed as it would be very convenient for me, but...
Read moreUgh DO NOT GO HERE!!! I got a pedicure and then gel nails with extensions done here for my wedding and they're so poorly done. We were late for a welcome dinner, so I didn't exam the job closely until a few hours later. The gel is so far from a few of my cuticles that it looked like I got them done a week ago instead of less than 24 hours ago. Most aren't done super evenly (wavy near-ish the cuticles). I went in the next day (day before wedding) to see if they could touch it up, and they said they're "extremely busy" and said it'd be a few hours. There were only 2 other people waiting (one being a daughter who was possibly not getting anything done) and 4 people working. They were so rude about it and clearly didn't want to take the 15 minutes to fix their bad job despite knowing it's for my wedding!!! The woman waiting asked to see my nails, made a face, and told me to ask for my money back....
