As of 2/10/2023: The recreation deck water fountain has been broken for over 3 YEARS. The pool and hot tub have been closed for over a year due to cracks which caused water to leak into the garage. Pool repair evaluation began on 3/15/2023.The playground ̶h̶a̶s̶ ̶b̶e̶e̶n̶ ̶c̶l̶o̶s̶e̶d̶ ̶f̶o̶r̶ ̶o̶v̶e̶r̶ ̶a̶ ̶y̶e̶a̶r̶.̶ was recently replaced. Common area A/C doesn't work. The garage gates have an optical license plate reader that doesn't work. Many security cameras don't work. T̶h̶e̶r̶e̶ ̶i̶s̶ ̶u̶s̶u̶a̶l̶l̶y̶ ̶o̶n̶e̶ ̶e̶l̶e̶v̶a̶t̶o̶r̶ ̶t̶h̶a̶t̶ ̶d̶o̶e̶s̶n̶'̶t̶ ̶w̶o̶r̶k̶.̶ Elevators haven't broken down recently. Elevator buttons have been broken for months. You must pay $110 for staging and $165 to reserve an elevator to move in/out even though there are four elevators in each tower. T̶h̶e̶r̶e̶ ̶a̶r̶e̶ ̶m̶u̶l̶t̶i̶p̶l̶e̶ ̶f̶a̶l̶s̶e̶ ̶f̶i̶r̶e̶ ̶a̶l̶a̶r̶m̶s̶ ̶e̶a̶c̶h̶ ̶m̶o̶n̶t̶h̶ ̶a̶n̶d̶ ̶i̶t̶'̶s̶ ̶s̶o̶ ̶b̶a̶d̶ ̶r̶e̶s̶i̶d̶e̶n̶t̶s̶ ̶d̶o̶n̶'̶t̶ ̶e̶v̶e̶n̶ ̶b̶o̶t̶h̶e̶r̶ ̶l̶e̶a̶v̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶a̶n̶y̶m̶o̶r̶e̶.̶ False alarms seem to have stopped for the past couple months. Have an annoying neighbor who continues to make noise even though you constantly report it to security? Tough. That's your problem. Security will not help you. Their only purpose is to enforce whatever rules management decides to make up. H̶a̶w̶a̶i̶i̶a̶n̶ ̶P̶r̶o̶p̶e̶r̶t̶i̶e̶s̶ ̶i̶s̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶p̶r̶o̶p̶e̶r̶t̶y̶ ̶m̶a̶n̶a̶g̶e̶r̶ - check out their reviews and you'll see one major reason why Moana Pacific is a failure. Maintenance fees were raised by 48% this year to cover for the past board's incompetence and negligence. During Covid the board and management made numerous rules affecting all owners without holding a board vote which violated HRS 514B-125, 514B-126, and the condo bylaws. I have all the board meeting minutes and none mention any discussion or vote on Covid rules. Biggest regret of my life buying a unit here. Great place to live. The amenities are above average and the shared areas are well maintained. Close enough to the ocean you can see the whales spouting from your lanai, and only a block away from the Ala Moana mall! Also a great place to catch Friday night fireworks 🎇.
