Atmosphere. A unique, classy, artistic fine dining restaurant. Different from any place I have ever gone to!
Seating Arrangements. Theres lots of seating! Besides the bar area you walk past, theres the dining area where seats not only vary in looks, but decor as well. Some are comfy lounging chairs and some tables have dangling, human shaped chandeliers. Theres also seating near the huge windows that you can look out of and watch cars as they drive by.
Food and Drinks. There is a limited selection for non-alcoholic drinks, so I can't wait to go back once I am 21. I also would like to point out that though my friend and I could not drink due to our age limitations, I had inquired our server if we could somehow get served some virgin drinks. Both times they agreed to serve us virgin mint mojitos. It was like a lemon-lime sour patch kids.
Price. Its very pricey, but completely worth the experience and the food! There were moments where I had thought I was full, but each time the next dish was brought out I'd get hungry all over again! This goes for my friends who have attended with me as well.
Overall, I believe the first time I went, I had a server named Stuart. Such a wonderful server that I'd love to have again. Not only did he answer my questions in great detail, but he also discussed other things I may like and went into detail about each dish. The second time I had gone, I had a different server. One a bit younger and he was also a great server. Besides checking in on us, he made a few jokes and took multiple pictures for us!
The food is wonderful, the atmosphere classy and unique. The service has been some of the best service I have ever been given. The only reasons I gave this restaurant 4 stars and not 5 stars were due to the food poisoning I caught on Valentines day and the hard coffee pie crust.
The Stage is a marvelous place to eat. The Stage and the staff will leave you with magnificent memories and an...
Read moreI wanted to like it, I wanted to love it but it was not good. I don’t usually leave reviews, I’d much rather just give feedback in person at the time of the service but when I did that it didn’t seem like they cared.
It was my birthday. We made reservation well in advance and indicated that it was a birthday celebration. We didn’t get the seating we wanted. The server told us the tables were reserved but really no one sat there the entire time of our dinner. Seemed like they just didn’t want to clean off the special table for us. Fine…the “booth” seating was so awkward as you sink down in the seat and feel like a child at the table. The decor/furnishings were so random and nothing made any sense. (I have a degree in design) but okay cool. We nearly got need up leaving because the server (there was only one) took quite a while to get our order. Like a good 15mins.
The wine selection was fine, I liked the wine flight selection. We went with the Spain one and it was pretty good. I also like that all the dishes are shareable. The first dish we ordered were the mushrooms and they were actually pretty good. Simple but good. We also ordered the octopus which itself was great but the potatoes were sooooo salty that we couldn’t even eat them. When we got the steak gougere, it was also awful. I was excited to try the Gouda potato puffs but it was like eating a cotton ball. The steak pieces weren’t tender at all. So chewy.
When this was brought up to the server when they finally came to check on us, it was dismissed and hence why I’m writing this review. As someone in the service industry I know how tough it is to get bad reviews but I couldn’t let this go by. $97 later to get my comments dismissed is not okay. Luckily I am a server too and did still leave a tip, my partner did not...
Read moreWhile this restaurant is incredibly hard to locate (you need to enter through a parking garage and then go up an elevator), which sort of gives it a speakeasy vibe… the food is worth the complicated entrance and it feels like this is priced super fairly for locals even given a lovely menu and sustainable fare on offer.
Delicately presented meats and seafood with unique flavors adorn the menu and are cooked to perfection, meanwhile you can pair anything with a very well priced flight of wine that genuinely feels like you’re pulling a fast one on their bottom line.
This is technically a wine bar that serves food, not the other way around, mind you. Fascinating ceiling decor hangs above as you slide into a cozy booth or cute chair by the windows, which afford an odd view of a busy intersection. There’s something not unpleasantly urban about the entire experience, given you’re shielded from city smells and noise up in your little Stage bubble.
Don’t miss the squash appetizer, it’s healthy and mouth-pleasing. Unexpectedly sweet without any of the grit or starchy blandness you’d expect from the squash. Pasta here doesn’t reinvent the wheel but it’s solid too....
