Want to start out by saying I never review services online and I hate bad mouthing people, but my experience here was so ridiculous I don't want anybody else to go through them.Totally disappointed with the service department here, avoid them at all costs. Called them before bringing my bike in back in the beginning of June for a stator issue, told them what the issue was and talked pricing. Sounded reasonable so I took it in and once again described what needed to get done. Within 2 days they had looked over the bike and given me a list of additional repairs, which I was fine with (I have a 2000 CBR6 F4 that wasn't kept up very well before I got ahold of it). It then took 3 WEEKS to "price parts" for the repairs. In that time I contacted the service department repeatedly and was either told to wait more or just hung up on. Had to talk to management before they would do anything. After contacting management they finally called back (first time in over 3 weeks they had actually called me) and we went over pricing and options, showing that until then they hadn't started doing ANY work on my bike yet. Put the parts in for order, which I was informed would take about 3 weeks (which is understandable, they were coming from the mainland). Kept waiting and calling back because again, they never called to say what was going on. After TWO AND A HALF MONTHS and more talks to the administrative department, finally got my bike back, spoke with them in the shop and asked them what they had done to repair the electrical issue I was having when I brought it in. The tech told me "they had checked it out and it all looked good". At this point I was so fed up I paid and left. Didn't ride more than 10 minutes before the same problem I brought it in for popped right back up. Called them and was connected to the manager who wanted to "make it right", so I brought it back the next day. After 2.5 months and $1,300+ in repairs, they took another week and another $150 to figure out and fix the exact problem I told them about at least twice back in June. No apologies from the service department, no acknowledgement of poor service, nothing done to "make it right". I don't know what the problem with that service department is, but they need to get on top of it. STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM MONTGOMERY POWERSPORTS AS POSSIBLE unless you want to give unnecessary amounts of time and money to people that don't care or...
Read moreI used to turn to Montgomery for all my cycle needs, back when they were still on Iwilei. They took care of my bike and earned my trust. Issue #1: About a year ago I needed my brakes worked on and had to order some parts, but since it was Ducati I was told it would take longer to arrive, about a few weeks. So I patiently waited and called when those few weeks were up. Turns out they never ordered the part so I had to wait an additional few weeks to finally get my bike fixed. Issue #2: Fast forward to last week and what prompted me to write this review. I came back from a 6 month deployment to find my bike leaking oil. I take it down to Montgomery and they first say it will take a week before they can get to it because they are short on mechanics. No problem I say, I'll wait. They go outside to take a quick look and said there's bad news, the engine is leaking in multiple places and thats something they don't fix because something wrong internally with the engine. I ask what my options are, and the guy tells me to contact Ducati. At this point, I leave Montgomery with seemingly few options, thinking this will be very expensive to fix and given its age might not be worth it, if anyone can even fix it at all on island. I decide to get a second opinion at Cycle City, they were very friendly and took it in but said it could be a few days before they get to it. They ended up calling me that same day I dropped it off, and told me that the oil filter was the wrong one, the filter that was installed by Montgomery, causing some of the leaking. They would work on it and it could be a few days before they finish. Turns out, they finished the very next day, I drove off and my bike is riding great again! So in summary, Montgomery did not fix my bike properly on my previous oil change by putting on the wrong filter, I brought it back to them to just take a look to find out what was wrong, but they refused. They refused to attempt to diagnose a problem that they were ultimately responsible for. The fact that Montgomery wouldn't even look at it, while another shop not only took it in, but fixed it and turned it around in 2 days is why I will never go back to Montgomery, I just can't trust...
Read moreI recently took my 206 GSX-R750 there because my battery kept dying. They charge a ridiculous amount of $89.00 just do diagnose your bike which isn't included in the repair price. They eventually called me to inform me that my Stator was bad and to repair would be $615.00 total. They said this would be a hour to a hour and a half job. I gave them the go ahead to work but immediately called back SIXTEEN MINUTES LATER to tell them I found a better price and I didn't want it done through them. They told me that they had already replace my Stator so they would have to take the new one out and replace it with the old one; making my total $151.00.
First, there's no way you can disassemble a bike, replace a stator, and reassemble in 16 minutes (I was told that this happened)
Second, there's no reason why anyone should pay and extra $60 for sixteen minutes of work with no actual repairs done.
They are money hungry, and their prices are EXTREMEMLY high. Not to mention, the customer service is pitiful. I asked to speak to a manger and never spoke to one over the phone; just another technician. I WOULD NOT recommend Montgomery...
