My family of 4 enjoyed a wonderful 8-hour tour around the island of Oahu. From the first communication with Adam, everything was easy, professional and well-organized. We greatly appreciated that we could be accommodated during Christmas week when other private tour operators told us they were booked. The cost is really fair, so if you have more than a couple of people in your group, there is no reason to go on those big bus tours where a lot of time is spent herding the group on and off the bus. We saw most of the tourists’ fan-favorites but customized the itinerary so that we could visit/spend more time at the sites located on the northern part of the island (e.g. Waimea Bay, Waimea Arboretum-Botanical Garden-Waterfalls, Haleiwa Beach Park and surfing Village) - something harder for us to do on our own while staying on Waikiki without a car. As Adam indicated during the booking, everything was flexible and dependent on our preferences. Ron was our guide and a rock star. He is very congenial and knows the island well. We enjoyed listening to his personal anecdotes about sites (e.g. famed Haiku Stairs/”Stairway to Heaven”) in addition to his informative facts/figures commentary. We never felt rushed, and his easy-going personality made for a delightful day. This tour was one of the highlights of our week-long stay in Hawaii and we recommend it whole-heartedly. I would highly recommend PTH as a much better option to hiring a car and trying to drive yourself around. With only a week in Waikiki we were very keen on seeing as much of the island as possible. But knowing where to go & what to see is the hard part. I first communicated via email with Adam from PTH ( which was quick & easy) & he pointed out how they would customize our tour to exactly what we wanted to see & do. Our tour guide was Chris & he was brilliant. He collected us from our hotel and spent the day showing us so many fantastic places, sights & real local attractions that you simply won't find ( even with Google !) Some of the highlights in a spectacular day were the Diamond Head Lookout, Hawaii Kai Lookout, Makapu'u Lookout, Magnum PI's "Robin's Nest", Nu'uanu Pali Rainforest, Sharks Cove (Snorkel ) Sunset Beach, Banzai Pipeline surfing beach, Haleiwa Surfing Village, and sample local food (Leonard's Bakery / Mike's Huli Huli Chicken / Hawaiian Shave Ice) !! Book this tour!! You will not be disappointed whatsoever!! Adam was so professional, gave us tons of tips on what to see and do and then left it up to us the day of to make any changes we wanted to. Greg was our tour guide for the day and there is absolutely NO ONE else that we would have wanted BUT HIM! He was so knowledgeable of the island being that he’s lived here for more than 50 years. His love of the island, his Aloha spirit and his love of what he does just added to the experience of the day spent with him. No one else can beat that! We had an unfortunate circumstance at the start of the tour. My son left his drone at one of the lookouts and Greg stopped at nothing to try to retrieve it and the owner of the company, Adam went back to the spot and sure enough one of the islanders that was there, grabbed it and held it just in case.
