Service: I have to say, I’m not the easiest person to serve at a restaurant. Celiac disease, gluten and dairy severe allergy and Japheth (our incredible server) was just on it. I reflexively usually just apologize for being a pain and he reassured me that allergies were taken seriously and that no apologies were necessary. He made us feel right at home and I’m beyond grateful for having someone so kind and understanding helping us out. There’s always a little anxiety when you go out to eat with Celiac disease but Japheth put my mind at ease and sure enough, no issues at all. He even remembered when we came back a few days later when we were served by Linnea, who also took wonderful care of us. Just outstanding service overall and happy to have met such a great crew! Food: The sushi is honestly so good - which is saying something since it’s Hawaii and you can find plenty of solid sushi options. Atmosphere: It’s a pretty versatile space. Happy hour is from midday to the evening, so the late lunch/dinner vibes are casual enough that we can come in from a day at the beach or dress up a little and get some great cocktails at night.

Read moreHad a very disappointing experience when coming out in a small party of 4, simple expectations wouldn't be met. Waited for about half hour just to get water in. Another half hour for drinks. Alright so once we got through the terrible service, spoke with 5 different people since no one has an idea of what they're doing, oh I forgot there were like 5 different menus that weren't all brought up to us, even tho the servers would refer to us as if we were supposed to guess what was available. The food was good! Some waiters complained they're working 3 different restaurants at the same time (who does that) this place is connected to two other restaurants!!! We have asked for recommendations for a celiac guest, the server was incredibly rude as if this condition was someone's fault. Didn't come up with a solution, then others started coming to our table making the whole order a mess, lots of wrong items coming through, anyway, you get the picture, an unfortunate disaster in a moment that was supposed to be celebratory. The place has so much potential, I hope they get it together, but...
Read more9/2022 Just happened upon this tucked away jewel when we bar hopped in the area after a matinee across the street. Was pleasantly surprised at the decor, ambience and crowd. It was like being in Waikiki, while not, which I do enjoy. It was a mix of locals, visitors, regulars and Nihon-jin. We sat at the bar where they offered a pretty nice grazing menu. Although it can be just a tad pricey, you get pretty good value in presentation, taste, and creativity. They have a nice selection of whiskeys and my favorite was up there, but again, it's not your (my) neighborhood bar. Very friendly place. Our bartender, Sara?, so sorry we forgot but she was a little taller and blonde, was attentive. The manager (femake) and host (male & female) was really welcoming and got experience off to a great start! And did i mention they have two beautiful restaurants? One ramen and the other a sushi restaurant, all connected together. Better concept than Nobu had in the same space. Yup, we'll probably be...
