Old Review: (Update below) This will be a very difficult review that I will be giving. Chiaki has done my eyelashes 2 times now and I am very happy and content with her work. Absolutely nothing wrong with her work. The only reason why I am giving this place 2 stars is to warn you to be very careful with their front desk clerk Wakano or something like that. She is obviously somebody in training I guess but is very incompetent. She made a mistake charging my credit card and for a while kept texting me that the charge has not gone through. So I went on a task of calling my bank checking my statement, etc, etc. doing my due diligence. Hiroki the owner finally called me saying that it was a mistake on Vagaro’s side and that everything is ok (all after a whole week). Right after Hiroki and I settled everything, Wakano calls me again saying, I paid for somebody else!!!! Long story short, I really like Chiaki doing my lashes but am torn now on whether I should go back there after what I had to go through. You know the saying, all it takes is one bad apple to ruin the whole batch. Maybe they should train her some more before she is allowed to handle the register. Goodness, it was so stressful and annoying that I’m literally going to have to recover from this before I decide what to do going forward. I feel like I was put through the wringer! Update March 24, 2025: Apparently they were having some issues with their third party vendor with payments. It was fixed and there is no more problems with this now. Also it looks like they have somebody new at the front desk although I have not had to deal with her. Chiaki saw me through the whole check out process as well. Hey ladies, I’m over 60 and my brows thinned to where I couldn’t go without brow liner but it was such a hassle. Without it though I looked older and half dressed. I knew for sure I didn’t want that harsh, brash eyebrow tattoo of yesteryear. That’s why I held back for so long.

I finally found a lovey solution. It’s called Nano Feather. The strokes look like a single eyebrow hair. Jiko did such a beautiful job. I was terrified that it would be too much but she listened to me and gave me exactly the natural feathery look that I wanted. I love how each stroke looks like a hair. She blended hairs that I had and blended it in with nano feather strokes.

If you want to have a perfectly natural looking brow, you must see Jiko at Salon Island Beauty. The salon is clean and calming, the process is professional. Very convenient location and easy to park.

After about a year you need a retouch, I had my retouch yesterday, I’m so happy with my results. I was a little braver this time so Jiko warmed up the color and put a few more strokes in. I was, and still am so happy with my results. Every time I looked in the mirror, every time I stepped out of the shower my brows looked so great. Great brows add a youthfulness that make you feel great. Knowing you can walk out the door without having to do your brows is priceless.

As a side tip, if you are a scaredy cat like me, you should know what you want and what you “don’t want”. Look up some pictures and share your thoughts with Jiko. Aloha!!! I cannot tell you enough great things about Salon Island! Yesterday was my 3rd time back. I found this Salon on my own doing lots of research on getting the best microblading possible on Oahu where I live. I found Hideko who owns this Salon. She is the best! Master artist and Teacher plus owns the Salons. Amazing atmosphere where I felt safe and educated on what they were doing. It is your face so I wanted the best and found it. You pay for what you get in life, you should never go looking for a deal or go cheap on permanent makeup! Go where they are the best and know what they are doing!! It is the cleanest place too. Cleanliness is of the highest there like a full doctor's office with 5 stars! I am in Hospitality Mgmt and seen by hundreds of people a day with my career. I must look good and be confident. My Appt yesterday was with lead artist Jiko and she fulfilled the owners high reference to me. She was so pleasant, nice, professional and has Aloha!! I can see why the owner Hideko talked so highly of her. Even being greeted by Alex at the front door who deals with everyone coming and going and running things at the front. I remembered Alex from my first Appt, she still as nice as can be!!! So go get the best quality work at this Salon from the start!
