Immersion Research — Local services in Hood River

Earlier this winter on a trip to Hood River, I stopped in an interesting-looking shop: Immersion Research. On a whim, I asked if they had any leftovers from their manufacturing for a nonprofit I support (Fill a Stocking, Fill a Heart.) I was given a bag of strap pieces that we use for tote bags, wheelchair bags, and walker totes. I kept in touch with one of their employees, and when I returned there last weekend, they had a HUGE box ready for Fill a Stocking... full of strapping, plastic sheeting pieces, and fleece. I am really impressed with the quality and care that the repair staff at Immersion Research put into my non IR drysuit. You get to consult with the person doing the repair, followed by really good advice with zero up-sell. I thought the price was fair, the turn around time was good, and the general vibe of the Hood River shop is "welcome, what can we do for you."

The best shop and the best gear. I can’t say enough good things about the quality of their gear. They make these amazing and cute bags (from scraps) that I literally use on the daily. Super cute and solidly made. Always get tons of compliments.
