Earlier this winter on a trip to Hood River, I stopped in an interesting-looking shop: Immersion Research. On a whim, I asked if they had any leftovers from their manufacturing for a nonprofit I support (Fill a Stocking, Fill a Heart.) I was given a bag of strap pieces that we use for tote bags, wheelchair bags, and walker totes. I kept in touch with one of their employees, and when I returned there last weekend, they had a HUGE box ready for Fill a Stocking... full of strapping, plastic sheeting pieces, and fleece. You get to consult with the person doing the repair, followed by really good advice with zero up-sell. I thought the price was fair, the turn around time was good, and the general vibe of the Hood River shop is "welcome, what can we do for you."
