Went here to get a wheel trued after I laced it together. When I dropped the wheel off I told the employee that it needed to be trued, where the dish, hop and true needed to be checked and fixed. I was told 2-3 days for the repair to be done, after a couple days I thought I’d check in since I was swinging through town. The repair wasn’t done which was alright, thought I would give them the weekend since it is a busy time. I went in on Monday and the wheel still wasn’t done. I was leaving town the next day and needed to take the wheel if it was done or not, so I stoped in the next day and it still wasn’t done. I was told that they could have it done shortly, I came back later and it was done.

When I went back home after my semester was done, I brought the wheel to the bike shop I work at as a mechanic to put sealant in it and double check it on the truing stand (I went to a shop since it is extremely hard to do this work without a truing stand). The wheel still had some hop which I had to fix myself. When I put the wheel in my frame it was very off center, which means they never checked the dish of the wheel using a dish align gage. I also had to fix this as well which took me 30-45 min. Using this tool shown in the pictures it was almost 1/2 in off.

Needed a crossbar for my bike to mount it on my rack. They had a few to my surprise. They have lots of stuff they’re not just mostly selling bikes. Everywhere I looked there was merchandise. Tosh helped us out and that guy was awesome. He helped us with more than bike stuff. He was extremely knowledgeable about most everything outdoor sports. Rented bear proof food storage containers for a weekend trip to isle royale. Had a wonderful time and felt secure having a safe way to store our food for a reasonable price. Customer service at Downwind was excellent and the employees were very knowledgeable about the area, isle royale, and backpacking.
