I normally don't go out of my way to review businesses online unless asked to, but this case; I feel compelled to share my experience.

I have been going to Hiro for the most of this year since before the pandemic. What drew me to him was not his hair cutting skill but his business and seemingly professional approach when it comes to managing his time. Setting up appointment seemed easy and seamless and you get your hair cut timely. He is on the expensive extreme but seemingly worth it for the quality of his service.

My issues with Hiro: -His system has proven not to be full proof and has flaws which I-the client-and left to pay for. My very first appointment, I had to cancel because of a schedule conflict. I did this the day before by replying to text I got confirming my appointment (at the time I did not have his personal phone number). Hiro supposedly did not see the text, counted me as a "no show" and block my email from booking further appointments instantly. -His "rules" of engagement are very much biased against his clients with no leeway. The second time, I had to cancel an appointment, I did so by texting him directly. Because it was less than 12 hours from my appointment time, he mad me pay the full hair cut fee for the missed appointment to continue working with him. -He has zero level of customer service, and hold no responsibility when he drops the ball on a client. Just today I arrived for my appointment 5 mins early. Per his emailed, instructions, we were to wait in the car after arriving and he will let you know when to come in (due to covid safety rules). This has worked for the most part since reopening until today. I watched Hiro from my car engage in conversation with someone who appeared to be a client. I continue to wait patiently thinking I would get a text when he was through with his client only to get a "no show" text 10 mins pass my appointment time. Immediately I flashed my headlight and honked my horn to get his attention. Startled, he came out and I told him I have been waiting for 15 mins. With no apologies offered, he proceeded to tell me I was to call him to let him know I arrived... supposedly he texted me these instructions, which was never sent. I double checked my emails and text, to no avail. the only thing I had was the email saying to" wait in the car until notified ". I showed him this text, he insisted and looked for message that don't exist. Had the nerve to complain that he was now behind.. offered no apologies. The person I thought was a client he was chatting with turn out to be another hair dresser from the room next to him. He was available the entire time and did not bother to check or message me per his instructions .I got my haircut and left as I made my point but I will not be returning to this guy.

Hiro is a very entitle barber, not the most skilled barber. For some reason feels the need to brag about "firing" clients because they wasting his time for one reason or another. Now that the tables are turned he is seen with ZERO service acumen, no common sense to apologies or attempt to make amend. What a wonderful experience we had with Hiro from start to finish. He is amazingly talented at his craft. My son loves his haircut and asked to go back and see him again. I received excellent communication which I truly appreciate. He confirmed our appointment and verified afterwards that everything went to our liking. As a mom of a young adult special needs son it’s very important to find the right fit to give Steve-O the experience he deserves as a young man getting a cut. Hiro did just that. Thank you for your professional and compassion while dealing with my son. I’m extremely grateful for that. If you are looking for a great barber look no further. You have find your guy.

I’ve been going to Hiro for 8 years now, and I honestly can’t imagine trusting anyone else with my hair and beard. It’s rare to find someone who really specializes in both—most people either do one or the other. Hiro is the total package: sharp with the clippers, clean with the style up top , and always leaves my beard looking on point.
