So my explanation for my rating is based on events that happened on oct 19,2024. When I made a reservation for my daughters’ birthday! The positives, from what she told me… the food atmosphere and service was exceptional. Now the negatives and warnings, first off I need to mention the “event coordinator” by name because the experience with his gentleman,James was the worst, this should immediately be addressed by the general manager of this establishment. Apparently he’s so busy he cannot properly explain what all is included or not included during an , my wife was just told it was a $250 deposit to make a reservation and he didn’t hesitate to take e breath before sending the link to PAY… so with no questions being answered and going into this blindly we went ahead and reserved and paid because my daughter really wanted to celebrate her birthday at this establishment. So of course, daddy’s little princess gets what she wants(when reasonable) with it being so close to the event date we just went ahead and paid do she could start inviting some people. So 12 people had RSVP’d but sadly and unfortunately only one of her friends was able to make it out. She didn’t invite mom and dad so we were at home while all this transpired. We were told that the host changed the reservation and sat 2 MINORS at the bar!!!! I I don’t know this place’s policy or if this was at the manager on duty’s approval but I know at most bars you’re not allowed to have teenagers at the bar. It gets worse #TABC, I know for a fact you can’t drink at a bar unless you’re 21 with VALID PROOF of identification. So there’s my second enraging occurrence that happened that evening. They had dinner, had 2 alcoholic drinks each and were then told that the tab was “taken care of already” how was it taken care of when nobody received a receipt? My daughter was never given a receipt for the total, she said they gave her a gift card with a balance which I assume is from obviously the $250 “deposit”… how would they know or how does a customer know how much the balance is, IF A RECEIPT OF SALE WAS NEVER PRINTED????? This is very shady, questionable and unethical. Maybe this event coordinator is pocketing $250 every time and “comping” peoples food or maybe they didn’t print it out because they knew the girls were minors and since the restaurant let them drink there they were able to charge whatever they wanted to with no questions asked. This is a very serious accusation but it’s a more serious violation to serve alcohol to minors!!!! I believe chose this place because it’s “trending” right now because they write people’s names on the menus, WHICH BY THE WAY, THEY DID NOT EVEN DO FOR MY DAUGHTER! So yet another strike on the “event coordinator”!!! This is definitely a concerning situation that needs to be addressed and mediated immediately. I grew up working in the service industry to get through college myself so I have so much respect for those services people that really do care and really strive to provide exceptional service too ALL customers of any race, color, shape or gender!!! I don’t know how this place could rectify such a dangerous situation but I sure hope they reach out and acknowledge they sure dropped the ball and can help us help them not further escalating the violations and mistakes that we greatly made that day! I hope this helps announce that’s trying to book an event and all they do is ask to for your deposit. I post these reviews to rectify and get some solutions out of bad situations and I hope they can fix this quick. Starting at the top, may be time for a staff meeting!! If I had the owners information I’d definitely give him a call privately but unfortunately this is the way we have to go about communicating this unfortunate event to our peers. I hope no one ever experiences our goes through something like this, luckily my girls weren’t hurt or harassed but we were lucky this night, one night, someone might not...
Read moreMy friend and I came to Juliet last night (6/21) to celebrate her BIRTHDAY, and unfortunately, the experience just didn’t deliver.
I made the reservation a week in advance and added a note asking them to “bring out all the stops” for her birthday. Instead, the only thing they stopped was our good time.
My friend arrived first and things were off from the start. She pulled into the valet area like instructed, and the valet just stood there—no greeting, no door service, no acknowledgment. She had to get out and ask them to valet her car. A small thing, but telling.
Inside, she spoke to two hostesses. One (Black woman with a bun) had a small mix-up with the reservation name, no big deal! The other hostess however (possibly Hispanic, about 5'0, tattoos, straight black hair) gave major attitude. Not sure if she was upset from a previous situation, but she clearly didn’t want to be there.
She sat my friend at a table in the very back, right next to a party of 20+ that hadn’t even been served yet, and there was only one server in that entire section. So now, we’re basically competing with a huge group for food and drinks. The server didn’t introduce himself, just started talking about drinks. My friend took a few quick birthday calls while he was at the other party's table, and when she was off the phone, he had vanished.
She also noticed her name was spelled wrong on the custom menu (which was supposed to make the dinner special), and when she mentioned it, the same rude hostess just folded the menu and walked off. No apology. No “my bad.” Nothing.
When I arrived, I asked if we could move. I saw open booths and figured it was worth asking. I know they usually save those for larger parties, and I wasn’t expecting a guarantee, but again—it was her BIRTHDAY and the place wasn’t even that busy. The same hostess just said only high-tops were available, so I asked if we could move to the bar instead because we were already irritated.
That was the best decision we made all night.
Jared, the bartender, completely changed the vibe. He introduced himself (imagine that), comped her a birthday drink, brought out a dessert, and actually treated her like it was her day. He told us that we weren’t the only ones who had issues with that hostess—apparently, she was also rude to his girlfriend earlier that night when she came to bring him food. So clearly, it wasn’t just us.
This was my second time at Juliet. The first time, I had a great experience—and funny enough, that was also at the bar. The bar staff knows what they’re doing. The dining room and front-of-house, not so much. Juliet has potential. The vibe is great, the food is solid, but there needs to be real training around guest experience, especially when it comes to occasions like birthdays. I’m not asking for fireworks. Just basic courtesy and respect.
We work in the industry too (Bungalow and Joey Uptown), so we understand what good service looks like. We had a ton of places we could’ve gone, and we chose Juliet. Jared gave us a reason to maybe come back. But until that energy at the door changes, I won’t...
Read more⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (10/5 if I could!) If you're looking for a place in Houston that effortlessly marries luxury, ambiance, and unforgettable flavor — let me introduce you to Juliet. From the moment I walked through the doors, it was clear this wasn't just dinner — it was an experience. Tucked into the city like a hidden gem, Juliet is a chic, speakeasy-style steakhouse that offers so much more than a good meal. It’s a whole vibe. Think sultry lighting, live music drifting through the air, and décor that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a cinematic dream. Even the bathroom is a photo-worthy moment — no, seriously. It’s not just a restroom, it’s a design statement. We came to celebrate an engagement with a party of 17 (no small feat for any restaurant), and Juliet handled it with absolute grace. The service? Impeccable. Our server — Elgin, if I recall correctly — was the epitome of professionalism and warmth. He was attentive, charming, and had a genuine kindness that elevated the evening. His personal touch — sharing that he, too, was recently engaged — only deepened the celebratory atmosphere. Now let’s talk about the food, because every dish was a showstopper. We indulged in: Creamy, rich Bacon Mac and Cheese Perfectly seasoned Thai Shrimp with just the right touch of heat Crispy, flavorful Brussels Sprouts Sweet Potato Casserole with Marshmallows (I’ll admit — I’m not a marshmallow fan, but even this dish nearly converted me) Succulent, tender Lamb Chops Silky Fettuccini that melts in your mouth And let’s not forget the desserts — the Caramelized Banana masterpiece and warm, decadent Bread Pudding that I’m still dreaming about Everything was flawless. The timing, the presentation, the temperature — no detail was overlooked. Juliet now holds a top spot on my list for all-around excellence of quality service and food. Who is Juliet for? It’s perfect for a romantic date night, an elegant proposal, a celebration with friends, or a memorable night out while visiting Houston. Quite simply, if you enjoy being treated like royalty, savoring exquisite flavors, and basking in an atmosphere that feels both luxurious and welcoming — this is your place. Juliet is more than a restaurant. It’s a love letter to fine dining, ambiance, and southern hospitality wrapped in style and soul. Don’t just take my word for it — go experience it...
