Had been going here almost a year and would not recommend. First experience was with a bad stylist who they’ve since let go. I wanted to give another chance with other stylist Lindsey. First haircut was fine but very short which shocked me but it grew back. Eventually I wanted to try highlights. Would not recommend trying anything you’re uncertain about, without color consultation, or expect much above the bare minimum here. My first highlights were extremely disappointing and felt like I wasted my money. But every time I was ever done with a color they’d state “oh the lighting is bad in here, it’ll be better outside, oh it’ll lighten up over time, etc.” so if you wanna pay lots of money and leave not with what you asked for, this is your place. Don’t expect them to pay attention when showing photos of what you want, consult in a way that’d professional or knowledgeable, or even style of trim your hair. You have to schedule a trim extra onto your appointment and they’ll most likely just blow dry your hair straight and run out of time every appointment for any curling. After 3-4 times of my appointment being rushed and going over time, finally the owner suggested putting a note into the system. Also, don’t use there system to schedule you appointment. I did once and it was wrong and they said to just call. Owner was receptive at first to my complaints but would not admit her stylist didn’t do a good job when I got darker hair and wanted dimension. See photos, over a month later it has not “lightened with time” and still no dimension. They charged me for partial highlight and not just all over color and refused refund. At this point it is unfixable ti me because I don’t want to damage my hair further. Will not be going back and owner will side with her stylist over customer and said I didn’t show photos of what I wanted so make sure you save your photos you show or it’ll turn into a court trial of she said, she said. I showed photos that were too dark previous colorings I’ve had, showed inspiration photos that were too light but had ribboning, balayage, and lighter carmel pieces which I’d been telling her I wanted multiple times. Facts are I left with hair dye all over my ears, forehead, and at the end of day she should’ve said, “let’s make today a consult and keep talking through this” rather than rushing, relying on another stylist for advice who wasn’t looking at the photos either and leaving me again with not getting...
Read moreI had a terrible experience at this Aveda salon. I went in to have my hair bleached blond. I spoke to the girl twice about what I wanted done. Once when making the appointment and again at the beginning of my hair appointment. I showed the girl several photos of ideas I had for blonde hair and what my hair used to look like when it was blonde. I told her that I may want to do an ombre style to make it lower maintenance (my hair is naturally a medium brown), and apparently she took that as I wanted my hair brown (darker than when I first came in) with blonde streaks. I have no idea how she could have gotten that from all of the photos that I showed her of women with blond hair, but that's what she did. I have no idea how there could have been so big of a disconected when I only showed her PHOTOS of women with BLONDE hair. When she started to dry my hair and I told her that it wasn't what I wanted, she was mean to me and started to argue with me. I had the receptionist get in contact with the owner for me so I could schedule an appointment with someone else to have them fix it. She got back with me a few hours later and was not understanding at all. She took up for her stylist, and she seemed to believe that it was my fault somehow. When I asked her about getting it fixed and getting a discount for the correction they were going to have to do, she said that she wouldn't do that because I didn't even pay for the original color. Why would I pay for something that is very obviously not what I asked for? Also, I drove an hour and a half to Indianapolis so that I could go to an Aveda salon to get my hair done. That's 3 hours that I have already driven today, and three more hours that I would have to drive to get it fixed. But she believed that even with 6 hours of driving and extremely messed up hair, she saw no reason to give me a discount on getting it fixed, and that even though the girl had darkened my hair and added blond streaks, she felt that there was probably no damage done to my hair. I decided not to go back there to get it fixed because she was rude, and I didn't feel like she really cared about my experience or believed me. I have never seen any salon act this unprofessional before, especially not an Aveda salon. I am very disappointed, and I was brought to tears by what happened. If you value your hair, I...
Read moreI started out with Darlene and absolutely loved her. I would have become one of her regulars if I could have. She left without me knowing so when I svehdueld an appointment I ended up with the pleasure of having James as my stylist...let me tell you something.
James, I will see you every two weeks for as long as you are here and if you end up anywhere else other than here I will follow you there. You make my life great and my hair better. You deal with my need for multi-tasking and provide great conversation when I am ready for it. I look forward to seeing you next and am blessed to have you as my stylist. I feel 100% comfortable in your hands and you can have my hair for as long as you want to have it. Talking to you when I get my hair done doesn't feel forced, it feels like talking to an old friend. The fact that you make me look amazing and do exactly what I ask for even if I don't specifically ask for it makes it even better....
