I was super excited to come to this place but honestly didn’t have a great experience. We came in on a Saturday night and were seated very quickly. Our server was great - very nice and attentive. Here’s where our experience went south… 1) we ordered an egg role appetizer which took about 15 min to come out. It was just two 2) my pho came out almost immediately after our appetizer which wasn’t a huge deal but my husbands meal didn’t come out for another 10 min. after mine. Totally understand if a restaurant is slammed with customers but we were one of 4 tables in the entire place. 3)I order the steak pho which was $26. That’s a hefty price for a bowl of pho but with inflation and the placer being a nicer restaurant, I totally was ready to pay. My bowl came out with the fattiest steak. About 50% of my steak was pure fat. I actually like fat on meat as I know it gives it amazing flavor but there was so much fat I couldn’t eat it. I let the server know and was happy to still pay full price but he let the chef know and they took 50% off my entree which I thought was nice 4) the table setting comes with these really pretty metal chopsticks which look great but it was nearly impossible to eat slippery rice noodles in broth with metal utensils. We asked for to-go wooden chopsticks to better grip the noodle and the sever mentioned a lot of people have the same issue. If that’s the case why not just address it? The server was great and I tipped full 20%. The place has great potential but I don’t believe the value was there with the food quality considering the price. A lot of mom and pop places around town do a better bowl of pho for a fraction...
Read moreWe tried Eating Fresh hoping it would be a great new spot in Broad Ripple and were very disapointed. The food was ok. I ordered seafood Pho amd Artichoke tes. The Seafood Pho at almost $23 for a bowl was mostly noodles and broth, there was 1 shrimp and 1 squid ring, 2 small scallops and a few small musles. (Note the photo is after I added in the bean sprouts, and the orange that might look like shrimp is carrot slices). I never received the tea. The service is really the biggest reason for the low rating. We were the only people in the restaurant for most of the time we were there and were completely ignored. I had to go and find someone to get water. When someone did come and take our order there was no eye contact and no conversation, not friendly at all. To get our check we treid the usual catching somoen's eye, raising a hand and no luck so after about half an hour of being done eating and no one checking in with us I walked up to the counter and asked the person cooking, I just wan't sure if anyone was going to check on us. When the person came to get our bill I asked them to make sure we were not charged for the tea that I never got and he seemed irritated, walked away to a computer and came back with a detailed reciept to show it was not included, he did not explain to us what he was doing. Unfortunately I give this place and overall low rating for over priced average food and very poor service. It does look very nice inside. But given the other optiins in town for Vietnamese food at more reasonable price point with great atmosphere, I will not be gping back to...
Read morejust went for dinner to eat before a concert, the restaurant was almost completely empty except for one table. the hostess/waitress did not greet us and after telling her there were only three of us, without saying a word she turned around and walked away. eventually we realized that she was setting the table, but we were never directed towards a table or anything. when it came time to order, she just stood there waiting for us to order, and when we ordered and she didn’t know if they had the dish, she turned and quietly called to the cook asking if they have it, and of course he didn’t hear her so she kept trying but at such a soft tone there’s no way he would hear, and she muttered under her breath about how he doesn’t listen, then without confirmation just told us that they didn’t have what we wanted. eventually she took our order and from then we waited 40 minutes- no check up, no asking if we needed anything, no update. we finally get our food (we each ordered kid portion pho) and it was so disappointing. the one good thing about it was that they were generous with the extra toppings, but the broth was flavorless, the meat was overcooked and tough, and the sauces on the table are really what saved it. if it were busy i’d understand a slower service but at that point there were only two other tables sat, with the rest of the restaurant empty. ridiculous wait & it wasn’t that good by...
