I recently went to Egyptian for a Sunday evening social gathering with friends. During Covid, there is a lengthy line as there is no time management to the tables which results in unfair participation from potential patrons. This is not the sole basis of my negative review, but merely a recommendation to management to improve their business and table turning.

The negativity of my review lies with the 'security guard' whose name is Adam. Adam was incredibly rude and unprofessional engaging in essentially a power struggle with my friend who viewed me sitting outside and walked through another break in the 'barrier' to the table I had reserved for our party. Adam audibly yelled at him from the door telling him he could not come in as opposed to suggesting he use the main "entrance" opening in the barrier - which is not labeled. From there, he proceeded to threaten my friend, loudly, in front of other customers and an argument ensued. I interjected and reminded Adam that two separate groups of women had done the exact same thing when they saw their friends from outside the barrier. Adam denied this and eventually conceded his irrational behavior after several humble apologies from my friend.

Throughout the evening, our server, Jennifer was incredibly kind and provided great service :)

I witnessed Adam drinking a beverage and as the night progressed, he was visibly intoxicated and entered into verbal arguments with profanity with other patrons.

Egyptian has great food and great service. However, I am thoroughly concerned with the personnel they have in management and security as this unprofessional team is incredibly bad for their business. I've been going to Egyptian for YEARS but now have found another Hookah business to spend my money in a friendly and healthy...

My girl and I decided to go on a date Tuesday night. She loves hookah and wanted to check this place out. Parking varied but for us which I believe was about 4 hours was $6. They have a nice size parking lot right next to the place which is convenient. Before we entered we had to pay $10 each to get in. That was already $26 dollars BEFORE entering the establishment. When we walked in there was a host at the bottom level but she did not greet us and walked away from the stand. It left us confused on what to do so we went to the bar. When we got to the bar we were greeted by Clay. He handed us menus and waters at that moment we were able to look around and feel the vibe. We planned on eating so we spotted a couch seating that had a table and chairs that we thought would be more roomy for us. So we asked him when we got our food if we could move there. He replied, “if you want to change seats I advise you to do that now because once you order with me your set. We aren’t playing musical chairs.” And walked away. We had already paid $26 to get in so we didn’t let that ruin our night. Other than the host and Clay the night was a vibe. The music was R&B classics with a mix of rap. Our hookah was always tended to, the food was delicious and filling. The drinks were good and I wish I knew the waiters name but she was light skin, curly hair in a clip, light or brown eyes. She was tentative to us and nice. I think we arrived around 7. There are no tobacco free choices for the hookah and there was 18% gratitude in the bill already but you had the choice to tip more. We decided we would go back on another...

The food tasted good, but the service was absolutely abysmal. Our table ordered food and iced tea. The appetizer took 5 minutes and tasted good, but I reminded our server and the person who brought our appetizer out that we still had not received our drinks. We finish the appetizer, someone comes to take the plate, and we again remind them about our drinks that haven't shown up. Our waitress comes back, we order our food and remind her that we are still waiting on our drinks. It's been 45 minutes and the drinks haven't come yet. We asked to move tables because our server was bad and it was very cold outside. The manager wouldnt let us move tables because we had to stay at a table the server was assigned to and the open tables in the restaurant were reserved or not in her section. Then different staff members brought drinks and half of our drinks were wrong. The meals show up and I still dont have the drink I asked for. We finally get everything we ordered and the food is good, but we are still cold sitting outside and now there are at least 4 other tables available inside. We ask for our check, but since the person picking up our plates isn't our server he will go get her instead of telling her we want our check. The whole experience made decent tasting food absolutely inconsequential because I would never go there again and I would actively go out of my way to tell people how awful the staff and service was. I hope the owner knows that this kind of service can absolutely destroy your business even if you...

First time trying this place and I'm not too sure how to feel about it honestly. For starters, it's a black owned business...so I was really impressed! I love supporting black owned business. The regular hookah flavors (not the premiums) were $11. Super reasonable. But everything else on the menu was a thumbs down for me, unfortunately. I ordered two cocktails priced at $8 each. Ok fine. But as I was thinking about ordering a shot (lemon drop) I couldn't believe my eyes when the price said $17. FOR A LEMON DROP. What in the world..also, the Vegas and Jaeger bombs were $25 each!!!! I could have basically bought the entire bottle for that price. Towards the end of my hookah, I ordered the baklava. It took them 35 minutes to even bring it out to me, and OMG it was not even close to being real baklava. It was so hard that I had to cut into it with a knife for every piece. There was 2 Tbs of cinnamon dumped on top of it and it tasted like it was previously frozen, then heated up to thaw out, then sat and cooled down again before being brought out to me. Overall, if you JUST want to smoke hookah, this is the perfect place. Hookah is nicely priced and the staff was very nice. But as far as the "cafe" side goes, don't waste your money.

What a gem! I've walked past this place a million times. I recently found out they served food, so I decided to pop in today and try it out. The atmosphere was awesome. It was dark, but not dank, tastefully decorated in the middle east tradition, soft, chill music playing. I got to my table and there was a literal couch to chill on. I started with chicken schwarma over pesto hummus with pita chips. Fantastic! I wanted some kebab, but couldn't decide, so I got the sampler. The kafta was excellent, the chicken good, but the lamb was the star of the show. I don't know that I've ever had a better grilled meat. I will definitely be back, but I'm bringing friends and throwing down on a little bit of everything and a lot more of that lamb!

The Egyptian is a nice place to visit but I wouldn’t recommend going every day. I was here for a conference and came two different days. I give them credit because the vibe is guys with headphones- zoned out on their laptops in flow state and hyper focus. Meaning, you stay for 5 or 6 hours and the server takes care of you. Between the two days I spent well over $100 and probably toasted some parts of my lungs - but there are far worse habits. I like the decor. The food is very good. The gyro pizza was probably the best thing I tried. The tea was excellent and the $12 pit has good value because it has about 5 or 6 cups. It pays for itself at the third cup. Thanks for the hospitality WiFi access is good.
