Staff is on point, upfront, and makes it feel like a community. The actual facility is just not up to par with the surrounding communityās needs and could use some love. We do enjoy it here but it comes with realistic expectations.
As others have mentioned, there are many who donāt necessarily have gym etiquette here and flat out refuse to let others work in their sets (sometimes doing 10+ sets on the Squat rack while using a bench with free weights at the same time.) A lot of grunts and slamming of weights to the floor as well.
As far as equipment, there is just not enough available compared to other LA Fitnesses around the city (Culver has an entire floor dedicated to squat racks, leg presses, and rowing.
On the flipside, there are entire rows of bikes and ellipticals. Only half gets used and many donāt work correctly.
When it comes to cleanliness, the gym also could use some love. The whirlpool spa always seems a bit grotty. They sometimes go a day or two without replacing the disinfectant stations. When it rains, the vents leak to the floor. The treadmill machines only work half the time (missing buttons / exposed cables / abruptly shuts off / etc.).
We do love having a gym in the area despite it being so busy. The staff, and the juice bar are by far THE BEST out of all the LA Fitnesses in the city. We hope they can improve the facility and the equipment...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLet me just start by saying the staff here is amazing. Theyāre super nice and do their best to accommodate us members and Iām always glad to see the familiar faces greet me. Theyāre the reason this rating isnāt two stars. The facility itself, however, is incredibly disappointing. I have the membership that allows me to go any location and Iām sad to say this location is the most neglected in terms of service and equipment. As an avid lifter, I also have to time my visit just right to be sure the dumbbell weights and bench I need will be available as itās SO under supplied. Half the gym is taken up by cardio machines that seem to only be present to take up space as Iāve only ever seen the treadmills full during peak times. Itās also disappointing to see that certain premium equipment is only available locations in the more affluent neighborhoods. And the equipment thatās actually in the club need serious upgrades evident from cracked or missing cushions which have been proven to be a serious health hazard. At times it seems like this is where all the old equipment from the other locations go to retire. Again, this isnāt on the staff, but on whomever owns this location. If it wasnāt for the Pasadena location being so nice, I wouldnāt have joined based on the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGreat. I need to add a couple of things. I love that they offer a lot of classes but their stereo system is always breaking down. Also there are chairs and bands for classes (especially for seniors) but people are always removing the chairs and there are never enough bands or balls for the classes. Also. Quite a few of the treadmills have been broken for awhile. Finally.lately people have left the mats in the room taking up much needed Zumba space. Even in spite of that, I enjoy this gym. I think they keep the place pretty clean and I don't think it smells sweaty like some gyms.
I have to edit my review of LA fitness inInglewood because in the last 3 month's they've gone downhill. The biggest problem is their equipment. Almost 1/2 the treadmills haven't been working and now they crowded them, more together for a workout space. They either need new equipment or get it repaired faster. The Westchester LA fitness is kept much nicer and their equipment has tv's on each piece which is...
