We have booked this tour reading reviews online and it felt suitable for little ones. The real life experience was way better than we expected.
First of all, we had a hard time with our flights getting delayed and all and reached Jackson a day later altogether; unfortunately we were booked for that day itself. So I started calling them and updating about the situation. Abby, the owner, was unbelievably understand and responsive! She knows what she is doing here. 12/10 for that! She got us rescheduled for the next day once I confirmed that we are finally boarding and should reach Jackson. She didn't let us miss this experience and I am so glad she did so!
Now the experience. We were greeted by loud energetic dogs, straight out for books and movies! Our son is 4 year old and we had him in layers and snow goggles for the experience - recommend that totally. The sled itself is like a bag that enclosed us to give wind and snow protection. The dogs took off on such a high speed, completely magical. There were couple of stops in the 45 minutes run and our son also got to drive the sled for sometime with the usher. We came back with big smiles on our face and our son said he loved it. Absolutely fantastic experience for little ones and adults as well.
We did some meet and greet with the dogs and also met direct descendant of Togo the dog!
Overall 10/10! Highly recommended for families with...
Read moreWe booked a 9 AM tour on our departure day, took a 30-minute shuttle, and arrived early. Another group of two couples arrived after us but was prioritized and placed on the first two sleighs with the healthier looking dogs. My husband and I (both tall and heavier) specifically requested stronger dogs, but our concerns were ignored. We were left waiting in the snow while the crew looked for dogs—many of which appeared very thin and weak. Only one sleigh team seemed truly healthy.
Upset at the unfair treatment and lack of explanation, we chose not to do the tour. However, the company still charged us $590 for a service we never received. Despite video proof, they continue to deny responsibility.
As a business owner, I find this completely unacceptable. Prioritizing late arrivals, ignoring reasonable safety concerns, and charging for an unused service shows a complete lack of integrity.
Final Update: They refused to refund us. Please avoid this business...
Read moreAmazing experience! Not just a must-do when you happen to be in Jackson, but Call of the WYld Dogsled tours is a reason to plan a trip to Jackson just to meet these amazing dogs and the humans who love them and care for them! It was pure magic to meet the dogs and the folks who work with them and help them to do what they love, which is run in the snow! We stopped by one day just to get some information and see the dogs and instantly knew this was a world we wanted to learn more about. Our tour the next day with Hannah was magical! We so enjoyed hearing her story, learning about the dogs, the world of mushing, and being on the snow in the crisp air at the base of the Tetons! It doesn’t get any better! And now all I’m doing is following them on social media and reading up on this fascinating world I knew nothing about except for occasional news about the Iditarod. Put this on your bucket list and just do it. You...
