AVOID THIS BUILDING
Iāve been living here for over a year. While I initially appreciated the buildingās modern interior, decent gym, and relatively affordable price compared to others, Iāve decided to move out due to the following unacceptable experiences:
Disrespectful and Rude Maintenance Team
I work from home and always provide my availability to ensure maintenance doesnāt interrupt important meetings. Despite this, maintenance workers would regularly bang on my door until I opened it, completely disregarding my schedule. I complained to management, who apologized and promised to address the issue.
Unresolved Heating Issues
The A/C system in this building is cheap & outdated (old GE Zoneline PTAC units) and entirely unreliable. Maintenance came to my apartment twice to address heating issues (short cycling and thermostat malfunctions) but failed to fix anything. Eventually, they closed my request with a note saying thereās ānothing they can do.ā
Hereās what I experienced: ⢠When the outside temperature is above 35°F, the A/C overheats the room, going as high as 72°F despite being set at 68°F. ⢠On colder nights, like December 21 at 4:30 a.m., when it was 30°F outside, the A/C kept turning on and off every five minutes. My indoor thermometer read 71.5°F. The noise and overheating made it impossible to sleep.
The units are not only loud but also dirty, with old filters and coils that cause allergy issues. I started experiencing allergic reactions whenever the A/C is on.
In addition, because of the malfunctioning thermostat and short cycling issue, our monthly electricity bills during the winter are a couple hundred dollars.
Retaliation, Dishonesty, and Gaslighting by Staff
After complaining to management about the heating issues and unprofessional behavior of the maintenance team, I experienced blatant retaliation and lies from staff. For example: ⢠On December 28, I requested that the A/C filters be cleaned due to my allergies. No one showed up on December 29. When I asked the front desk about it, the concierge, Steven, told me the maintenance worker (Martinez) was avoiding me because I had previously complained about him. ⢠Steven also lied to me by saying Martinez wasnāt in the building in the afternoon, although I saw him earlier in the morning. However, when I went down to the front desk, I saw Martinez there myself.
Steven then called me again (a conversation I recorded) and changed his story, claiming they needed āmanagement approvalā to clean the A/C filters. When I confronted him about previous times they had cleaned the filters without issue, he blamed my āattitude.ā
Offensive and Unprofessional Behavior
When my boyfriend and I went downstairs to speak with Steven in person, he made the situation even worse. Among other rude remarks, he insulted my boyfriend by saying he ādoesnāt have any ballsā.
This type of dishonesty, retaliation, and outright offensive behavior from staff is completely unacceptable and shows a total disregard for the residents.
Bottom Line:
This building may look appealing at first glance, but donāt be fooled. Between the outdated heating system, rude and retaliatory maintenance staff, and the blatant dishonesty and unprofessionalism of the front desk, living here has been a nightmare. Avoid this building...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe management team is so arrogant and brutal from the assistant to manager, they refused to provide solution and communication with residents to solve the problem. Even doesn't reply to your emails like just ghosting if you have conflict with their interest.
I moved into this apartment in March, I signed up for parking, i pay monthly parking fee and the parking permit should be provided by them for Free. They recently sent out an email for parking audit which requires to display the parking decal otherwise the car will be towed or booted.
But they never mentioned that they have provided the parking decal in the welcome envelope, i didn't even sign any document states that i have received the parking decal. Yes, i do have the responsibility to display the parking decal but that should be the apartment's responsibility to provide me the parking decal at the beginning.
After i asked them for the parking decal, they just replied you have to pay to get the replacement for the decal as they claimed they have provided it in the envelope but without any proof. I refused them that i didn't get it at the beginning, how is that supposed to be a replacement? Then they threatened to tow my car if i don't want to pay for it. I am really shocked and disappointed by their irresponsibility and impudence.
Last, what i want from the team is to provide me the parking decal as soon as possible because it's totally their responsibility and apologize for their rudeness and arrogant.
Some email quote from them: "The attached lease includes your parking addendum. #12 references that the parking permit/decal needs to be displayed. I am sorry that you are upset, but we have a parking decal number assigned to your account. Decals are given out with the remotes. If you do not want to purchase a replacement and continue to park without the decal, then your car will be booted. Please understand we do not want this to happen."
"Yes XXX has kept me in the loop of your emails ; Iām sorry you feel this way but as XXX has already mentioned to you, you have signed a parking agreement. The agreement states you are responsible for displaying your decal or we have the right to tow your car. If you decide you donāt want to replace your decal at your expense then you risk...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've been living here for two years and had planned to stay for longer. I really wanted to feel at home, but my experience with the leasing team has left me deeply deeply disappointed! In short, if you want to happily talk to them CHANGE for another building.
Before you sign the lease, they're responsive and polite. But once you've signed, it feels like the warmth disappears, and communication becomes one-sided. Itās hard to get clear answers, and when mistakes happen on their end, they expect you to deal with the consequences ā without apology, without flexibility. All they want is to get more MONEY!!!
Recently, due to their unclear communication, I picked up keys thinking everything was fine. I signed paperwork, followed all procedures, and assumed I was doing everything right. Only later did they inform me ā that I'd be charged rent from that date because they shouldnāt have hand me the key early even if they are the one wrote me email and said the keys are ready for me. When I tried to explain and ask for understanding, I was met with cold, rigid responses and demands that felt incredibly unfair. (I even booked movers based on the timeline they gave me, and now I might lose my deposit ā just because they didnāt clarify things. And somehow, they still expect me to scramble and fix the situation on a weekday, on short notice, as if Iām the one at fault. INTERESTING). And if you want to sign this building do pay attention to all their ārequirementsā as they gonna make all little statement go against you. I was asked to return the key within three hours after they called me, at a work day, a Friday noon, to return the key, else they will charge 400 dollarsš¤Ŗ.
Iām just one tenant, and maybe my voice wonāt matter to them ā but it really hurts to feel this powerless, especially after being a loyal resident and planning to renew again. I just wish the leasing team could treat residents with more empathy and...
