I recently had the pleasure of getting my hair cut at Great Clips of Jersey City and I'm absolutely thrilled with the results. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and comfortable. The barber who was on that day which was Friday October 3rd 2024 was incredibly attentive and skilled. They took the time to listen to my preferences and made sure to understand exactly what I wanted. Their expertise was evident in every snip of the scissors. The final result was a perfect blend of style and precision. Not only was the haircut exceptional, but the overall experience was fantastic. The atmosphere in the shop was relaxed and friendly, and I felt like I was in good hands. Had an extremely bad experience at this location. Apparently it is owned by same management that owns the one in Portofino in Newport. I had checked in online. When I walked in there was a lady with two kids, who were not yet checked in so as per Great Clips policy I should have been helped first but Rachael (only person at the store) decided to take the kids first just because of her own whim and that made sure that I had to wait for 30 minutes even though I was ahead in the queue (even as per the screen) also Rachael (who has helped me earlier) seemed least interested in giving me a haircut that I needed. Needless to say that I wont be visiting this location as this is seriously understaffed, owners are just greedy for profits opening a location without proper staffing (the hairdressers from the Portofino location are handling both the locations) and also the location is a pain to find. Worst hairdresser ever I went there Saturday 9/7 at 9am for opening. Hair all over the floor, although I was the first costumer. Lady was on her phone instead of grabbing a broom and make the place look decent. Asked for the most simple haircut in the world : light trim on sides. A child could almost do it. She didn't take the time to clip or tie my long hair and hence, started to trim big chunks of long hair. I stopped her, grabbed a huge bunch of long hair and told her not to cut any long hair. She said she didn't cut any long hair while I was holding them in front of her. Then she asked me to grab my own hair tie I had removed and to tie my hair. I asked her to use the salon's clips or ties and she answered she didn't have any.
