Similar experience as the girl who posted before regarding the time policy. First time here and the map led me to two buildings next to it. And I needed to go inside the building to ask for direction. Got there two minutes late. The front desk girl actually let me in and I lock my stuff in the locker. The front desk only stopped me after I asked if I can bring my shoes in. She said oh I don’t know about the class and are you first time here. If it’s your first time, you are not allowed to go in late. Totally understand the system should encourage people to join on time. But it should allow some flexibility. In a perfect world, no one should ever be late for a gym class. I am not sure if the goal of the studio is to create a perfect world like that or at least provide some help and answer some simple questions for the first-time joiners.
After not letting me in, they charged me $12 for missing the reservation. The front desk person said no penalty fee would be charged when I was there. Very...
Read moreVery unfortunate that I have to write this review because I have had some good classes at this studio. Albeit I do agree with some of the reviews that the address on ClassPass is wrong. I remember the first time I ever went to this studio I couldn’t find it only to realize it was a couple blocks away and had to run to the correct address to make it to class on time. Anyway, when I booked a class this time around it was a little different. I booked a sculpt class on ClassPass because my friend was in town and she wanted to do some fun classes around JC. We both booked this class a few days in advance and the night before my class was cancelled and hers wasn’t and we were puzzled as to why. We tried to call the studio literally like 30 times combined but no answer. We thought maybe we had the wrong number but no we heard the voicemail that indicated the number belonged to Impact. Just very frustrating at the lack of customer service and their last minute cancellation without any...
Read moreWhen I first visited Impact last year I was not only new to the area but also new to group fitness classes in general. I tried just about everything on ClassPass within a 30-minute walking radius and Impact is the one that’s stuck…it’s been about 10 months now and I recently completed my 100th class. For someone who was a true fitness class skeptic, I think this says something about Impact and the approachable, inclusive and unpretentious vibe they foster. I like that I can choose how heavy I want to lift on any given day, modifications are a part of the planned class structure and I’m always in and out in an efficient 50 minutes. I enjoy almost all of the instructors and formats (especially Strength) but if you have a chance to do Barre or Sculpt with Caroline you are in for a deceptively tough workout…I sign-up for her classes...
