I went in last year when they first opened in JC thinking this is just another chain fitness spot. I was pleasantly proven wrong by the team.
Ashley & Lisa run the branch with the “efficiency of a big chain but with a heart of a small business”. I never had a query that wasn’t answered promptly or to my satisfaction. The team also created a much-needed community and reprieve during WFH situation. Most days, these fitness classes are my only other in-person interaction with people outside of my home.
Cleanliness: The gym is immaculate. The common areas, studio and equipment are sanitized often. They follow state protocols on masking & distance and adjust class sizes accordingly.
Instruction: The instructors are very knowledgeable and helpful. Even though it is a group fitness class, they offer hands-on corrections and modifications individually. If they couldn’t get to you in the class, you can talk to them after class, and they will explain and correct your form. They also offer a lot of modifications throughout the class for all levels and different injuries. Shoutout to my favs, Ashley, Brittany, Kristine, Lexie & Lisa! Lisa corrected some shoulder positions which helped a lot with my shoulder injury. Ashley being a dancer herself, offers tips on stretches. I bother her so much with so many weird questions and she does not lose patience, EVER!
Community: They have different challenges every season and get togethers in nearby bars. They also support various small businesses and do classes for charities. The front staff is always friendly and radiate positivity. They do free classes to help understand the exercises we are doing called “breaking down the barre” which are a must. They also do themed events and special classes. If you complete challenges, they offer discounts on packages or merchandise.
Classes: There are a variety of classes everyday and at various times in the morning and in the evening which aligns with work hours. You can choose between high intensity Cardio class or a Classic Barre class. Every class has similar sections, warmup, arms, thighs, seat and core. With proper modifications, every section can be adopted for all levels of fitness. They have multiple deals throughout the year on packages...
Read moreI had a disappointing experience at this Pure Barre studio. As a first-time visitor, no staff greeted or guided me, so I had to figure things out by watching others.
The facility was poorly maintained—dumbbells had peeling grips, the mats and floors smelled bad, and the space felt unclean. The instructor gave little guidance on form, and most of the time, we were left guessing. The workout was repetitive and ineffective—I barely broke a sweat after 50 minutes.
What made this experience even worse was the business’s response to my honest review. Instead of acknowledging areas for improvement, they falsely accused me of harassment and claimed they would have my review removed. This reaction shows a clear unwillingness to accept constructive criticism.
If you’re looking for a well-structured, supportive, and professional workout environment, I would not recommend...
Read moreI absolutely love pure barre and love this studio! Kicking myself for not signing up sooner, but since I have signed up, this has been the highlight of my morning each day. All of the instructors are amazing and provide a lot of corrections to make sure everyone is doing the form properly. I think I’ve taken classes with all of the different instructors now and all of them are so wonderful. The studio itself is always nice and clean which I really...
