I was previously at another hair salon and when my hair stylist left, I was set on tracking her down (I promise it was a lot less creepy then that just read). Unfortunately she moved out of state, but she was doing a guest spot at a place called the Artist and the Antidote. Unfortunately I missed the window, but I decided I would book an appointment with the salon anyway since I really liked my old stylist so much.
I booked an appointment with Shannon, and I'm always a little nervous meeting a new stylist. Feels like a job interview. Also, since I had skipped a 6 month appointment, my hair was pretty long. Super long. Shannon made me feel super comfortable, and after never dying my hair, somehow we got on the topic of it, and I, who is not the most adventurous with my hair, was like, you know what, let's just go for it. Let's do it.
Shannon was super nice and patient and explained pretty much anything I could think of, answered all my questions, was super knowledgable. We decided since it's my first time, let's just go for a red tint. We talked about a bright red but that was going to have me coming back (and honestly, I thought if I had to come back, I would back out), and also I couldn't wash my hair for like a day or 2... which seemed like a big commitment.
I cannot express how happy both my cut and color came out. I've like my hair cuts before, but I don't know that I've loved it as much. And I LOVE the color SO much. It looks so good! Everyone who's seen it so far, as loved it. Thank...
Read moreThe salon is very aesthetic and clean. The hospitality is insane and the stylists (owner included) are so incredibly lovely and warm. You can tell they love what they do, and they don't shy away from a challenge. My hair is super big, even after cutting it. Most people turn my hair type away but they were practically begging to get started. Danyel is the artist who did my hair, and she answered any questions I mightve had and walked me through everything she was doing just to make sure I was okay with it. I'm glad I trusted her advice because everything came out GORGEOUS!
Thank you to Danyel for the amazing lovely work, to Chay for having me come in and just being such a heartfelt person, and to Jacob who continously made me laugh throughout the session.
They truly are a family here, and it's such a gem in downtown. I'd highly recommend checking them out!
Alsooooo, vote for them as the best hair salon on "Hoboken Girl"! These artists love what they do and who they do it for. Let's get them...
